  1. it's the slang adjective for being Lactose intolerant I think.
  2. I'm not sure these attitudes will ever change without a championship. Casuals want a team to be run like the Dodgers. This front office won't ever do that. As for GSnarls point SD sold 1,500 season tickets upon signing Manny. There is lots the Jays can have happen to get that off season buzz next year and sell tickets (case it point the Marlins and Mets trades). Buzz is good...but I'd rather see them build a good team.
  3. Jays were coming off back to back WS and sitting with the #4, #5, #10 & #28 prospects in baseball. Jose Silva at 10 and Alex Gonzalez at 4 (Delgado was the 5 and Green was #28) Snider never even hit top 5 actually. I think the only Jays ever to hit the top 5 (on the BA Pre-season list) are Gonzalez, Wells & Jr.
  4. ahem...Rays are back on top of the league. I love that the Rays and Twins have combined for 30k a game (Rays 13.6, Twins 16.6) 4,600 a game less than the Angels.
  5. Jays opened with 4 against the Yankees last year. First series alone they were down 44,000 compared to this years 103k four game series against Detroit. Haven't faced the Sox either and I'm pretty sure we did in April last year. Not saying it's good but I'd say it was expected.
  6. Depends so much on the conferences they play in too. An Ian Happ 19.44% out of Cincinnati and the Big East Conference (Or AAC I can't remember which they were in when Happ went there) isn't the same as Wilson doing it in the ACC or Bleday in the SEC. There are some pay sites that break down stats against Friday Starters and conf play. Sometimes with hitters, despite the even smaller sample size, all more telling to the true talent of the hitters. Hunter Bishop since Pac 10 play started. 116 AB .301 avg 36 k 26 bb (7 IBB) 9 HR Considering he hadn't shown much history as a huge hitter in past seasons, he is guy just based on Stats alone (never seen a State game myself or even a video of him) I would stay away from. For the record he's now hitting .212 against Friday Starters this year. It's a small sample but might say something about his ability to adjust to advanced pitchers.
  7. I should add that I'm not hearing it from a random scout. I'm hearing it from a Blue Jays Scout. It's a huge difference when someone who actually has an input with the GM says it in comparison to Baseball America. Again it was September last year. Things change. Biggio's batting approach has, so his defense could as well. I don't want to seem so down on Biggio cause I'm not.
  8. A small peak at the Dunedin offices from my old programs trip to Florida. Check out #humberflorida2019 for some other pics.
  9. After once being almost 40 games under .500 against Dinger I'm almost back to even.
  10. i hope Cleveland wins the Central at 10 games under .500 just to hear people bitch about how weak the Central is more.
  11. 20 times he's come to the plate with the bases loaded...he has 5 grand slams.
  12. Look at the pretty picture ... isn't it beautiful. Now back away from the keyboard and enjoy your Sunday afternoon
  13. It's supposedly his footwork. He puts himself in bad throwing positions. I won't say it's to his left or to his right he does really poorly cause I honestly can't remember. I know listening to a scout is poor form around here...but this was a scout in his 20's so maybe that is acceptable. Regardless if the bat continues it won't matter where he ends up. For now he's a 2b though, and supposedly 3B is just not an option.
  14. If the Jays think he's a really good major leaguer than at this point the Super two deadline makes sense. I just happen to think they are still working on things with him and they want those things to develop in the minors. Mostly to do with his defense.
  15. Line drive vs. Fly ball is the biggest difference between them. Biggio is never going to be doubles machine but the comp makes a lot of sense.
  16. I hear that the Jays see Biggio as a 1B long-term and they are moving him around to try to find something that delays the move to 1B. He turns 2 at 2B well but his range is poor and his hands are stone. Biggio is still working on becoming a different hitter. He has been a TTO even when it's going well. This year he's been choking up on the bat with 2 strikes and getting the ball in play more. His numbers last year were inflated by how he feasted on younger pitchers in a small sample size. This year he's only faced pitchers older and is passing that test. He also had a huge start last year though and then was pretty average after June 1. If you believe he's really Zobrist (even though Mark Reynolds is probably the better comp) than you should be happy to wait for the super 2 deadline in about 40 days.
  17. fans left at the end of this game deserve free season tickets next year.
  18. I really don't think there is huge financial consideration for Biggio's moves.
  19. Lil' Nicky just hit a two run shot to walk off the Sox
  20. I picked up Pujols in the DDL just for this matchup
  21. I think if you accept my deal and we finalize it you will have a spot for Lester
  22. confirmed. I have only 7 spects. so no drops.

  24. I was going to bump those "thor is bad" posts but Spanky pretty much covered it. When he keeps the ball in the park (pitching..not his hitting) he's still a god
