I have to hope so. I don't know if my patchwork pitching can pass any of the 7 in front of me which means I have to hold Boxy and the Slayers off. I am about to make a trade that hurts my future even further (yes NJH you are screwing me but I probably will accept, with just a small counter) so I have to hope for this year or another Dispersal draft.

Slayers with a 1.91 ERA with 80 innings pitched is impressive...especially since they are losing ERA. Pigs put up season bests in 4 categories. Couldn't happen to a nicer team.

That Noah Syndergaard is s*** too. Aaron Sanchez career fWAR 5.2 in 500 innings. Norris is considered "nothing" by most Jays fans is 3.7 in 300 IP...and still isn't in his arb years. Disco 6.7 fWAR. Marisnick continues to thrive in a part-time role and is up to 5.7 career WAR for a guy that has been paid $4M total in his career. Yunel put up 8.1 fWAR after his trade. Derek Dietrich was traded for Escobar right after the Marlins trade, he's put up 7.5 WAR. Only Thor has gone on to be a star, but I still think it's a total of $400m in excess value traded by the Jays from 2013 to 2016

I don't disagree with you but my thought process is that you don't trade them both at the same time. The Brewers could get any available pitcher in baseball for Hiura, 1.75 years of Stroman sits where in the available pitchers? I'm not 100% sure, but if Hiura was available I would hope the Jays had that call already. -
Atkins has answered that one. They would have loved to started the rebuilding process earlier but you don't rebuild coming off a playoff season in which the team led the league in attendance. Again...they held steady through that process and Donaldson got hurt so the value dissipated Lars Anderson, Shin-soo Choo and Tony Sipp for Albers, Shaw, Stubbs and Bauer was pretty damn good. Pestano for Clevenger (in August in a year where they were contending). I don't think there are many GMs that could get the Donaldson trade it was the perfect combo of persistence and a stubborn GM who was annoyed with a player. Remember this always...the Angels came to the Jays with the Wells trade. All AA had to say was yes and he actually tried to negotiate that a different player be thrown in and only accepted when he had a deal in place for Napoli.

It's more what he didn't do for me. He didn't panic from the plan. He took projections of revenue and made sure that there will be profits this year. What would adding players and payroll have done for this year...absolutely nothing.

If Rogers honestly didn't believe in Atkins next off season would be the time to move them (unfairly in my mind). There are assets ready to help and there is minimal payroll. A GM could do whatever they want pretty much. It's also the off-season we all should judge Atkins on. What does he do with Smoak, Stroman and Sanchez (and if he does trade them where are the players they trade for at (Will they be ready to help in majors now or does this season push it back again)? Does he add anything to compliment Vladdy, either via trade or free agency? Does he extend anyone???
