  1. Melky's not much more than an average regular, guys. The defense and lack of power for a corner spot really hamper his value. He's not going to get $15M+ on four-plus years IMO. Maybe 3/42 or 4/50.
  2. The starter is even more pathetic though. Scott Carroll is the dictionary definition of "just a guy." We should be fine as long as Happ doesn't get lit up himself.
  3. It's not about what KLaw says or what Mayo says. The CBA says that teams get two years of protection.
  4. Houston offered Law their pro scouting director job (the one Kevin Goldstein ended up taking) but he declined because it would mean more time away from his family. He seems to really like his current situation with ESPN. I'm sure if he was interested in working for a team again there would be a few interested.
  5. They would trade down if they wanted Exum though.
  6. What's Gibby supposed to do. The situation called for a lefty and Loup had pitched two days in a row. He should have gone to Rasmussen. If Rasmussen isn't fit to pitch in a close game, then we have three such relievers (Rasmussen, Jenkins, Redmond) which is two too many and falls on AA. I would have pulled Rasmussen after hitting Jeter though, that's my only gripe.
  7. Today on PTS, Stephen Brunt called Jason Hammel, "Josh Hamels." It was hilarious lol
  8. Pillar has a 34 wRC+ on a .300 BABIP. I didn't even know that was possible. He strikes out all the time, has yet to walk and has no power. Not exactly an appealing package.
  9. Fatcow has a better winning percentage this year. He's back on duty.
  10. Kratz already had a 9.6 run edge over Navarro in framing and he's barely played. We're probably talking about a two win upgrade in a full season. That difference is just way too big for Navarro to possibly overcome with the bat.
  11. You never know with concussions. That's why some sports leagues make it mandatory that a player leaves the game after a head injury. Just because EE knew what day it was and displayed motor ability after getting hit does not mean he's concussion-free. "Concussion test" is an oxymoron.
  12. Yeah I am really hoping Cleveland takes Parker.
  13. Superstars run the NBA. Cleveland doesn't need Afflalo or the #12 pick. They need Wiggins or Parker.
  14. That's true, they'll probably be forced to stick with him. The extent to which that entire team is not hitting is unfathomable. One of the worst hitting teams in history. I'm not, trust me! I only wish ill on teams in my division.
  15. I feel bad about the Gyorko situation. It looked like BTS had a long-term second baseman and now he may have nothing. BTS really has to hope the Padres trade him out of Petco, a real possibility now that Josh Byrnes has been canned.
  16. I'm not saying Hammel is the answer, but we're so high on the marginal win curve that upgrading everywhere we can will probably be worth it. Second-tier prospect for #4 starter/platoon infielder.
  17. You better start working on tomorrow's thread Go Jays!
  18. He's just a guy. Everyone expecting batting champ Jose Reyes or 78 steals Jose Reyes will continue to be sorely disappointed. He's an average hitter with an average overall defensive profile.
  19. Reyes is a glorified average regular.
  20. Please don't trade him AA. That would make me very sad.
  21. Thanks for stepping up. Hopefully it's many more than one game!
  22. Create the thread but don't post it until a few seconds before first pitch. Fatcow has to be given every chance to come through.
