pretty much knew he was getting more than 25 a year. Thought it would be a deal that was closer to 200M but it's still a lot of money -
dude can hit and plays some great D. he's fairly fast as well and will be a perfect 2 hole hitter. unless they resign melky. wow..... resign melky!!! lol

ball doesn't carry as well at Colosseum, especially at night and you dont get many balls fouled out of play. Donaldson is a 345 OBP guy.... Ball flies at the RC, especially in the summer, but never has "bad" carry and you can get 10 pitch ABs because the seats are so close.

it's a nice piece of strategy. anyone following Maddon will be looked at as a failure and wont last long. why waste a proper manager when you can go into the "real" list in a year when they are looking again. being "the guy" after "the God" is a certain death.... lol worst job available in baseball this year.

We are going to need Sanchez going forward. Getting Martin as a FA that can truly help our pitching and Defense is a huge plus and is even bigger because we didn't have to give up any players.

scenario 2 could be that they cleared $ for this and next year so they can sign another FA now. Most of the jays contracts are gone in a year. that opens up a lot more $ going forward and make it easier to pay Martin.
