No, I met her when I was working in LA. Got married in the states too. I hadn't lived in Canada for years so it really didn't matter to me where I lived. She wanted to be close to her family.

been here for half my life. 26 years... married a cute Swedish woman and moved over here. I have kids so I'm here for life. Probably grand kids in 2 years or less.
