  1. I don't think it'll get to that point, there should be some quality talent around 10.
  2. Id definitely go Manea, but isn't he a Boras client?
  3. What's the loophole? AA has shown he's willing to go to the full extent of the rules, but on the other hand, he does love dem promises.
  4. McGuire would be a positive selection (in isolation, if he was the BPA). It would a.) give us a quality catcher and b.) signal that JPA probably isn't viewed as the catcher of the future anymore.
  5. I was more emotionally invested in 2009. I hadn't really thought it was our year or anything and I was just hoping for a solid effort. then we had a huge beginning, and I got my hopes up. This year, I kept my expectations low, in large part because of 2009, and I'm not really all that frustrated, I've reached the point where I can sit back, laugh, and go on an all caps rage. So, yeah, 2009.
  6. I could see it, but nahh. Tao, he's an amazing writer, but he isn't amazing with stats or anything.
  7. I would offer up Izturis, see if they bite.
  8. Bringing Negrych up doesn't really make much sense.
  9. I wonder if he ever fully completes his transformation into J.P. Ricciardi and admits he's lied to the media before about injuries.
  10. 2.48 xFIP Peripherals sexier than Kate Upton Pretty ridiculous
  11. +100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 He's exactly what we need, but we're not going to.
  12. Heath Bell is actually putting up a super solid season last I checked.
  13. I know a couple Mariners fans and I don't think there's a single one of them that wouldn't do a Colby Rasmus for Nick Franklin or James Paxton swap.
  14. I fully realize the can of worms I'm probably opening with this, but I feel like a s*** disturber tonight. Why are people idiots for throwing a general manager - who is so inefficient at assembling starting pitcher depth that Esmil Rogers is spot starting - under the bus?
  15. It doesn't matter, but it'll make the casuals happy. AA probably loves him because he leads the league in boyish smiles. It's just so sad. And then you think about Russell Martin, and it gets even sadder.
  16. I think ellipses are technically proper grammar, but they're just really f***ing annoying.
  17. Oh, he's down to .318? I saw .326 on fangraphs. So turns out among qualified catchers, he's .01 points above average on his wOBA. His ISO is probably a fair amount above average, though.
  18. If I up it to all qualified catchers, it's .317 on average, rounded, so JPA is above average in wOBA by .09 in catchers or so.
  19. Holy f***, I never thought I'd see something that incredible. Wow, that's ridiculous. I mean, it's just so rare. Eric Thames took a walk... I have no words.
  20. Average catcher wOBA for 2013 among all catchers with 50 PA is 0.314, rounded. JPA is actually above average by .12, but there are probably a lot of scrubs because I filtered in backups. There were 51 total catchers.
  21. So he pitched 3.1 good innings and he's a success? Okay Trade him to Texas lol, I'm sure they'd take him.
  22. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=mlb+average+wOBA+by+position No, but really, there's probably nothing available on Google. I'll do it, I'm assuming you want catcher. Just a sec.
  23. He certainly looked it. He's lost the magical vetrin presents of last year, now he's just kinda there and starting to smell. I don't think I'd even need a prospect, just ship him out for some org guy like Negrych and save the cash and free up a BP spot.
