But we've lost two big parts of that team in Mac and Grabo, added Clarkson, and extended Bozak to give us virtually no cap room. The reassuring part is that with such a great core, a retooling a la the Red Sox could probably work, if we made a few shrewd FA signings and a trade or two after we clear out. The problem won't be building back into a contender, it'll be getting rid of the dead weight. Clarkson and Bozak and such won't be easy to move.

Keep Kessel, Kadri, Gardiner, Reilly, Phaneuf, JVR, and a goalie, and clear the rest the f*** out.
  5. Brentz is a must imo. Boyd, maybe. I've actually completely reworked my list and it's still a work in progress, so here. 1.) Marcus Stroman 2.) Aaron Sanchez 3.) Roberto Osuna 4.) 11. Gardner LF Gose CF Bautista RF > Bautista LF Gardner CF Gose RF And I don't think Jose moves to DH yet.
  12. Better safe than sorry. Carry on.
  13. Okay, so I was wrong. Someone really did vote for Benitez and co and it wasn't Le Batard. Wow. Woooooow.
  14. Before anyone gets too upset over this, let's remember that Deadspin supposedly purchased a vote from an anonymous vote in an attempt to make a mockery of the process. This seems like Deadspin.
  15. I don't think he was a longevity play. He was a serviceable starter up until his last year. I don't think he should have gotten in but I see why statheads wanted him in.
  16. Rule #1 of being a Blue Jays fan. If a fan proposal, at any point contains, it will never, ever happen. Nothing actually awesome happens to Blue Jays fans.
  17. It very much isn't. That's like assessing a starting pitcher based on like 30 innings pitched.
  18. The NHL's restricted free agency is like this, isn't it?
  19. I don't know too much about Johnson but essentially Rasmus for the other three is something I want no part of. Viciedo is at most a platoon guy, and those three combine for like max 2.5 wins, which is an extremely conservative projection for Colby himself next year. Plus, like Abom outlined, they shouldn't do this either. Although the White Sox were linked to Colby once upon a time, weren't they?
  20. White Sox have done real well, off the top of my head Angels and Nats. Oakland too. Really underrated. Texas, maybe, depending on who you ask.
  21. I would very much like Grady Sizemore on a minor league deal
