With this series of blog entries, I'm going to try to cover some of the features of the new site in a few paragraphs. Using the old site, as I'm sure many of you are aware, tables were basically unusable. That has changed! I'll tackle B-Ref tables quickly in this post but you can do similar things with FanGraphs or other sites that use table data (which is how almost all stat sites display their content). First, pop on over to Vlad's B-Ref page: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/guerrvl02.shtml Just above his stat table, you'll see Share & Export. Click and then select Modify, Share, & Export Table. Boom, you can then select what stats you want to display and which you want to remove. I've removed all seasons except the last two. I also removed team and league because "duh". Then click the big X in the top right of the yellow square and you have your filtered table. Grab that table by moving your cursor to the top left of the table (just to the left of Year in this case) and while holding down the button of your mouse/trackpad, drag toward the bottom right of the table. The table will begin to highlight in yellow as you select the cells. Grab them all and let go of the mouse/trackpad. Then copy what has been selected (control+c on Windows, command+c on macOS). Pop over to Jays Centre, start typing a comment, and paste your content (control+v on Windows, command+v on macOS). Ah @G-Snarls thanks. That stupid thing, fixing it now.

1. I'll test the redirect from the old site. That was a real pain in the ass that never worked exactly as I wanted it to. 2. What does the popup look like? If you see it again, please screen it.

That was me being in a hurry and sloppy. Ugh.

Stupid ass reactions were rendering as invisible, that's a new one. Fixed, you can all see the option to react now.

I have to wait until a ton of background processes are complete to merge this into one Jays forum; in the meantime, I'm making it visible so that you all can participate in existing threads. At some point, these posts will disappear for a few hours. That means they're being merged into a single forum.

It looks like the user data has finished so people can log in and start posting. The forums will come back starting tomorrow morning.

The sky is the limit. I created a dead horse icon at one point so users could voice their displeasure with someone stating the same opinion for the 1,000th time.

Not "downvotes" per se because content isn't ranked in that way. It's not like reddit where popular content rises to the top of the page. But there is a "disagree" react to state you think someone's opinion is horse****.

First, if you're having login issues, email me at brock.beauchamp@jayscentre.com. Things will likely be messy for most of Tuesday, Dec 31. Forums will disappear, reappear, posts will shuffle around, it will be pretty chaotic. All of this is temporary. When I do a batch move of forums or posts, the system hides them temporarily while it processes the huge request. This could last for a couple of days but most of it will be done within 24 hours. You'll see a batch of reactions available to use in the forums. We can add or subtract based on community input. Some specific threads may disappear for days; that likely means I'm cleaning the threads of unacceptable language or content. They'll reappear in time, I have to do that work manually. You can now tag users, just hit @ and then start typing the username. That user will be alerted you want to bring something to their attention. You can follow different parts of the site, forums, or specific threads. The system will alert you if new content is added. There are achievements and ranks in this software, mostly by creating content or participating in conversations. You'll see that part of the site go live maybe 3-ish days after launch. The site will be ad-free for about a week as we go through the approval process. They'll just appear one day, along with the video section. That's about all I can think of for now. I'll probably be shutting down this forum around 7pm eastern time, FTR. Tomorrow everything will (theoretically) appear at JaysCentre.com, probably mid-morning.

Welcome to an all-new front page here at Jays Centre! Along with being a long-running forum for fans of the Toronto Blue Jays, we will now provide fans with thoughtful articles from fellow Jays fans and writers. It is all part of an ongoing effort to create a one-stop-shop, a community for passionate Blue Jays fans. Before we discuss the articles, you will notice that the forums are still complete and in mostly the same spot as before. It’s all still there. The only addition you may notice is that there is a new forum for commenting on the front-page articles. So, what can you look for and expect from the front-page articles of Jays Centre? To answer that, I’d like to encourage you to click on our sister site, Twins Daily, for what you might see over time from some of your favorite Blue Jays writers. Here is what you may find over time: Deep statistical analysis on a player or topic. For those who enjoy looking into baseball's many advanced statistics, some articles may help provide reasons for team or managerial decisions, situational analysis, and more. Minor league articles. The plan is to have daily minor league reports on the Blue Jays affiliates throughout the minor league season. You will see how the teams did, how the players performed, some highlights, and more. In addition, we will provide prospect rankings and more. Player profiles on major-league players or minor league players. As relationships are developed, we hope to do some player interviews and stories. Maybe there will be stories on current minor leaguers, big leaguers, or even former big leaguers who call Canada home. News articles from the day. If a player gets hurt, we will try to analyze how the front office will adjust the roster and maybe how the manager will alter lineups, rotations, roles, etc. Trade or free agent analysis. Draft coverage before, during, and following the MLB Draft. Historical articles digging into some of the great (or not-so-great) Blue Jays teams since the formation of the team in 1977. But the history of baseball in Toronto is long and filled with interesting topics and stories. Video! In the coming days, we’ll roll out our video section, which will feature short videos about Blue Jays major and minor league players. We are not looking to duplicate Twins Daily. This community is already so very strong, so passionate. We want to add to that community and provide more options for Blue Jays fans to connect to their favorite team. The articles, much like the writers, will likely evolve, and that’s a good thing. What if I want to write for Jays Centre? That’s a great question. I’m glad you asked. First, feel free to reach out to email at brock.beauchamp@jayscentre.com or contact any of the other writers and express interest. But, you will also note that the user blogs page is still there. If you’ve ever wanted an audience for your Blue Jays takes, this is the perfect place. It is also noteworthy that we will be paying our front-page article writers. It’s certainly not enough to quit your day job. So don’t do that. MLB Trade Rumors has reported that the Blue Jays are considered amongst "frontrunners" to sign outfielder Anthony Santander. Yes, yes. I know. The Jays have been in on several of the top free agents this winter but have yet to sign a prominent name, of which there are few remaining. Santander had a fantastic 2024 season, posting a 131 OPS+ for the Orioles. Earlier in the offseason, it was reported that Santander, who will play his age-30 season in 2025, was looking for a five-year contract. Fellow outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was recently re-signed by the Dodgers on a three-year contract, a far cry from the five years Santander is pursuing.
