Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Valenzuela deserves a lot more credit for what he's given us this Season. Imagine if Tyler Heinemen was Catching 5 days a week this entire time Kirk has been out.

I think he's fully earned the right to stay in the majors once Kirk is ready to return.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 6 Posted June 6 At least Blaze Alexander has a job lined up at Global Gym if this Baseball thing doesn't work out for him.

He's literally tied for second on the team in Homeruns and has done really well both framing and throwing the ball despite the errors. The only defensive metric he's below average at is blocks and we have to keep in mind he's catching a lot of Pitchers he doesn't have a lot of experience Catching.

I think that blocking is really the only area that Valenzuela needs to improve, and I see no reason that this can't continue at the major league level after Kirk returns. I am somewhat expecting Kirk to be brought along pretty carefully early on upon his return and this opens the potential for a 1A/1B tandem that would be the best catching duo in MLB. This would also open up more pinch running opportunities when Kirk reaches base late in games and allow the team to hardly miss a beat with Valenzuela being inserted into the game, and this would also open up more DH and pinch hitting opportunities for Kirk as well given the quality of backup the team enjoys.

Letting Valenzuela still catch 3 times a week with Kirk DHing more than normal might be a good idea. Especially if Springer isn't going to get going soon.

JaysFan99 Verified Member Posted June 6 Posted June 6 0-2 home run from Hoffman. Better get someone up before he blows it against them again.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Awful pitch by Hoffman. I don't know why Miles needed to be pulled in that situation. JaysFan99, DAAJankeesLose and dancingmachine 3
