John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Whit would be fortunate to get 2/20 with a 3rd year option at his age with his limited power imo.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Speed is a big part of his game. Age is tough on that. His stats are puffed up because he has been raking at an unsustainable level. I don't expect this to continue. Not against a deal for him. Valuable piece and good player. Not anywhere close to 3/45 though. MAYZA is good!! You should watch him mic'd up, he says he's really 24
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 This bullpen getting it done. Would like to see them get some help so everyone can slide back a spot.

WryNGinger Verified Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 So Vlad takes one and gets jobbed by the ump...of course.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I severely doubts Whit wants to finish his career here. He's a southern boy probably wants to play a little closer to home. Toronto is very liberal and of course in Canada.

Chances of injury (plus increased recovery time as you age doesn't bode well either. However, if they keep him out of the outfield, play him at second and he spells Vladdy at first and gets his dh days, a two year deal may work.

Would be huge if Green can be that guy..but honestly I think they need Green + 1 more. White is gone for sure once Green is ready, maybe they can find a trade that includes Garcia which allows them to get another elite guy…I dunno. Hard to say

Hard to say Green is one more appearance away from being called up, feels good. All reports are positive.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 So Vlad takes one and gets jobbed by the ump...of course. Yeah bad call there, but why wasn’t Vlad ready for the 94 4seamer down the middle the pitch before?
Blue Jays Lurker 2023 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I hope Romano close this out so we don’t have to endure Daulton Trasho AB and possible OUT BASE PERCENTAGE boost. But Carlos Danger says otherwise
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Would like to see them get some help so everyone can slide back a spot. Yeah, but you can say that every year with virtually every team. If Ryu works out, why not move Kikuchi to the pen in September, with Green coming on board.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Yeah bad call there, but why wasn’t Vlad ready for the 94 4seamer down the middle the pitch before? I didn't bring up the pitch before. Go ahead and discuss it if you want.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Uhh...ok man. Way to try and take the discussion in your own direction...lol It's just facts man lol. Remember he was a player that didn't want to get vaccinated originally. Couldn't play in Toronto early in the Season just last year. I would love to have him back on a cheap deal. But with the infield prospects the Jays have coming and his desire to probably both get a good deal for himself and considering his family which he talked about quite a bit. I don't see the fit long term.

Yea Green could potentially be part of the solution. But coming off an injury we really don't know if were getting the Yankees version of Chad Green. He could be next year but this year could hit or miss.
Blue Jays Lurker 2023 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 George Springer should stay away from Varsho as much as possible….that stink has rub off on him for sometime now
PitaBaby Verified Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Trying to think of the last Jays closer that I actually had a semi good feeling about, I think it was BJ Ryan.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I didn't bring up the pitch before. Go ahead and discuss it if you want. Not a huge deal, just curious as to why he wasn’t ready for a fastball in a 2-0 count. I get not every pitcher gives in these days, but ya gotta be ready for it
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Romanos sliders are not good tonight. Every one of them is a meatball
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Romano's FB is so straight and he has no command of it a lot of outings. Hence the endless SL use. Never easy. Pucker up time.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 We all remember that Bo, Espinal like, brain freeze...wonder if that will hurt as usual
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Merrifield is going to cash in - once in a lifetime opportunity he will go to the highest bidder. He'll be the top 2B on the market - his age is relatively irrelevant
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Romano struggling big time. I hope Schneider has someone warming
