Even if you speak perfect French, they can pick up on your accent and they immediately treat you as a trespasser

 

Not that I speak perfect French but yeah you can't win either way there. Contrast that to Italy where if you bust in to a room and yell "Buonasera!" in an American accent they all laugh and smile and yell it back.

 

I do like France though. The rudeness is so brazenly bad that it's almost a positive. Just endless hilarious entertainment when interacting with people there.

In most Spanish speaking countries you will get alot of respect for trying. Though almost everyone under 35 speaks English pretty well unless it’s a rural area
