DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Lol Redsox must hate playing us this year
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 If Berrios is inexplicably bad, some of Manoah's starts are inexplicably good. Hard to see sometimes whats special about his arsenal of stuff or command, but he just keeps racking up solid outings. Been incredible. His missed Kirks spot by almost 2 feet that last pitch to Xander and it still wiped him out on his hands. Way to go ya horse! I was thinking about this as well. But Manoah moves his pitches around both sides of the plate unlike most. Batters just can't guess with him.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Lol Redsox must hate playing us this year Yeah, the entire East, check it out, it's crazy. Destroyed.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Tapia, f***... I was so close to picking him. lol Same lol
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 October Springer about to destroy

DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Perfect pitch on corner, bit outside maybe
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Nice to have a laugher after the crappy offday playoff clinch and that tough Yankees series
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Perfect pitch on corner, bit outside maybe Tough to pull the trigger on that one
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 I was thinking about this as well. But Manoah moves his pitches around both sides of the plate unlike most. Batters just can't guess with him. Exactly. He has good movement. Side to side, up and down. Lots of speed changes. He really had that great cartoon slider like he had last year often. Love how he mixed in the change early when he didn't have FB feel. But Berrios has great movement too and everything seems to leak back right on to a f***ing barrel!
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 He reminds me of Stieb in that regard, just bigger, lol. Yep, just not crazy stuff like Stieb.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Perfect time to use Kooch... then send him on a ghost injury to the 60 day and call up Pearson, Win.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Stangstag and JaysAllMighty making their homerun contest picks for next five games....
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Yep, just not crazy stuff like Stieb. Yeah, Stieb's slider was ++... Manoah has a + slider but a change that's getting better every start, they both have the same ball IQ it seems.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Kooch really is an enigma. Same with Berrios... and the latter has to be command of the FB.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Big celebration tonight, hope Pete used the TTC
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Big celebration tonight, hope Pete used the TTC They're all likely staying at the dome with fam, etc... Big games ahead. Poor Pete, lol.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 big celebration tonight, hope pete used the ttc lol;)
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 He reminds me of Stieb in that regard, just bigger, lol. Hmm...But Steib almost always had a wipe out pitch - slider. Away from righties and back foot to lefties. Cant say that about Alek's stuff much. I remember that start in July last year. 10 K with 7 in a row vs Rays. He had the SL going that night. I thought we would see more of that in '22 but he has still been great. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/mlb-toronto-blue-jays-tampa-bay-rays-recap-july-2-1.6088873
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Wonder what the lineup card will look like tomorrow. Still got work to do to secure home field. You guys remember back in 2015(?) when Gibby fielded the shittiest lineup the day after the celebration.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Kuchi can be great....when it doesn't matter.

They come to compete, period.
