gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Id say they both stay or both go. Don't see a split up That's what I'm afraid of. With Shapiro doing good work with Rogers, I can't see him leaving anytime soon.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Damn, just tuned in late. 10 hits given up through 5 2/3. That's ugly. Berios needs to be better. More than half weak contact beating the extreme shifts. He actually pitched pretty decent

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Man, those 2 extra earned runs stung Berrios.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Yikes, the ship is sinking , play for yourselves
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Hire Shea Hillenbrand for manager!
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 @Lethebalfly Well hitters beating the shift still needs to be blamed on the pitcher, that's just good hitting.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 I'm not liking the philosophical outcomes from this front office.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 We need more of "Pull dat Ball" offense lmao
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Man, those 2 extra earned runs stung Berrios. No kidding, totally flips the perception of his line.

It is, but we shift to the extreme and just pitch normally. So extreme shift to the pull side and throw fastballs and sliders away...just terrible use of the shift vs a team that is contact oriented like LAA and CHC
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Things are getting scary right now. All this talent and nothing.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Yikes, the ship is sinking , play for yourselves As hard as this team is to watch, I still don't see the Twinkies or O's catching us. That extra wildcard spot is going to be a Godsend for the Jays. Kinda cheapens the playoff race to be honest with all these extra playoff spots. There's really not going to be much drama going down the line... Now imagine if Rays, Jays and M's were all gunning for one or 2 spots. That would be can't miss baseball.

It's as though the pitcher/catcher are disconnected from the positions of the fielders. Very odd.
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 I honestly don't remember a Jays team underperforming so badly.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Author Posted August 30, 2022 I honestly don't remember a Jays team underperforming so badly. 2013 team was shite after all those big moves (Marlins trade, Melky Cab) And again in 2014 (Dickey) And then again for the first half of 2015 until the trade deadline. And 2016 was a rough year to watch too, came down to that final game in Fenway to clinch homefield for the WC
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 How many pitches was the bottom of the 6th? I missed it but it seemed quick
Ehjays Verified Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Ok guys seriously now.. Is Ross Atkins fired if we miss the playoffs, or is he too tightly taped to Shapiro? Ross isnt going anywhere they just signed him to 5 more years

Killing the shift in 2023 might help the bluejays more than the majority of teams out there

A defense shouldn't be hamstrung from positioning effectively just because Manfred wants more scoring. Plus, they're always complaining about the length of games, I don't see how doing this is going to make it any better.

There have been rumblings/rumors about robo umps and no shifts for 2023, but nothing confirmed yet.

Man, it's just a streaky team. They could go on and put an impressive whooping for the next 4 games and all will be forgotten and rinse and repeat.

Probably something similar to the minors test where they had to have 2 players on each side of 2B I dont like it at all in general. Let defenses play how they want
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Holy f*** this offense is terrible.
