And if they left Stripling in, and he got shelled, you would he bitching about how they should have gone to the pen.. you do you.

No one in their right mind should say that we should have went to Thorton over letting Stripling pitch another inning... NO ONE lol

I repeat, you let Stripling go longer if you know you have to rely on Thorton. Our management pulls our starters like we have an elite bullpen. You need to manage based on what you have... not what you'd like to have...

Maximo would have been a better choice.

Besides that...no reason to have Kikuchi, Maximo, Thornton, and Anderson all on the team as SP/long men in the pen. Results in Montoyo making stupid decisions like pitching Thornton with a small lead

They used Cimber to get through the top of the order, right move, Thornton didn't execute, it's that simple.

Jay, at 81 pitches, Stripling could have went out in the 6th and if he gave up a hard hit ball or walk, pull him.

Geez, even in 2005 guys like Josh Tower and Gustavo Chacin pitched deep into games if they were cruising and pitching well. Given how awful the Jays bullpen is, they need to ask a bit extra from their starters and Stripling was more than fine going out in the 6th on a short leash.

You don't let get Stripling get shelled. If he gives up a hard hit or leadoff walk, then you make the call to the bullpen.

When does Thornton ever execute in high leverage situations? It's been 4 years and he's been complete trash. Would be great if Pete Walker can sprinkle some of that magic dust people think he has...

Anything less than a 7-run lead is going to be a loss with this bullpen.

You can't expect this bullpen to close out a 4-2 game starting from the 6th inning. Common sense!

Choosing relievers is like throwing cold meat on a wall and see what sticks each night. Maybe bologna is what we need.

Meh, Stripling's numbers 3rd time through are atrocious, right move to try and win the series, bruh. Walking the 8 hitter and delivering a meatball to the 9 hitter sucked f***ing balls though.

He used it all on Kikuchi, but it wasn't enough

I’m not expecting any changes. Montoyo continues to be an absolute joke at managing a bullpen and when Romo is ready he’s gonna use him like he’s a saviour. Thornton before Cimber is inexcusable. Thornton in a 2 run game in the 7th is also embarrassing

It’s to the point where I don’t even want to watch anymore once the pen trots in.

They should have learned from last season. This is on shatkins

We can't let our starters go 3 times through the order but we sure can bring in fresh scrubs from the bullpen at any point... This is what happens when you leave analytics to idiots who cant decipher them... pretending to be smarter than you actually are lol.

Yes, but he was pitching well tonight and he's at only 81 pitches. Need to assess the situation at hand. Also, like I said, he's been pretty much lights out in June (1.16 ERA).

Given the Blue Jays bullpen, let him go out in the 6th. It's tough asking this bullpen to give you one or two innings to close out a game, let alone FOUR! Like I said, if he gives up a hard hit ball or walk, bring in Cimber!

If Stripling is dealing and only at 50-60 pitches entering the 6th inning, though third time through the order, does that mean he should be pulled?
