EastCoaster Verified Member Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 The Toronto Blue Jays have signed free agent Gregory Polonco 29 Pirates outfielder when he was released also they resigned Elvis Luciano both to minor league deals. Polonco was the longest tenured Pirates but he was never able to put up the numbers the Pirates expected from him I guess the Blue Jays is taking a flyer on him hoping he might become the player everyone hope he could be. Yesterday the also resigned Elvis Luciano to a minor league deal this will be the second stint with the Blue Jays for him as the had picked him up as a rule 5 player in 2019 he was released by the Blue Jays Aug23.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Gregory Polanco always had the talent. Just could never stay healthy and I think injuries have finally worn him down. I like this signing though, see if there's a way to bring him back to life.

What if the team signed Joe Panik to a minor league contract? Montoyo would then demand he make the team out of spring training. Panik would then go on to start in half of the team's games. Bad minor league signing.

Well then, this may happen with Polonco. 29 year old 'vet' with a sweet left handed swing. Unless you think Charlie is a racist and only favors white vets with a sweet left handed swing.

The management of the asset would be poor if they allow that to happen.
