If I was Atkins, I'd fire Montoyo while the season is still salvageable. Show the players that their play has consequences.

 

Hell, I would have fired Montoyo right after he threw that game against the Indians to prove a point to Chatwood, but there's been egregious errors since then and that was like what, 2 weeks ago? In the words of Shea Hillibrand, the ship is sinking lol.

 

I think Montoyo is a terrible manager, but none of these losses are on him. The bullpen is atrocious, it doesn't even matter who they use.

Hey guys, if you have live betting, you might wanna get some money in on the O's. They're at decent money right now and Jays ain't winning this game lol

 

Hope someone out there followed my advice lol. Not an easy call with the O's only up 1 run in the 5th.

Nah man, there's been a few very winnable games where the dumb late game calls from Montoyo pissed the game away. And losing those close games is demoralizing and they pile up.

 

It's one stupid move after another with this guy. And it's not like he has some shining resume where you give him the benefit of the doubt. IMO, there's a reason why he toiled in the minors for as long as he did.

Obviously I’d rather play sub .500 teams, like we are, but putting so much stock in the schedule change has always been risky. Rather than closing series wins and sweeps against the Indians etc etc we are now in a position where we have to run the table on these teams. And we just don’t have arms (or bats at least tonight) to dominant them either. Just a brutal stretch.

Sure they are all camped out of a motel room…but think they still collect their millionaires paycheck (at least most of them) so just asking for a little accountability
