connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Yeah flexor strain usually doesn’t end well in couple weeks
Ray Verified Member Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 We should sign Shane Greene. Obviously, not ideal, but it hurts less when we have some good arms in the minors for the rotation or the bullpen. All the best to Kirby Yates. I think this is his second TJ.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Christ, what a cursed news dump. At least Springer/Ray won’t be out long (you’d hope)
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 When you add Pearson and Hatch to that list it makes you want to barf a little. The good news is we have lots of pitching depth and a great farm system to help us deal with this very situation. That said, I can't help but wonder if they'll explore a deal with Porcello? Other names: Shane Greene Brad Peacock Cole Hamels David Robertson Mike Leake I don't know if we are desperate enough to take look at Roberto Osuna yet are we?

Funny thing that you and Ray have brought up two guys I was looking at last night, Greene and Osuna. I'd be on board for either, but I doubt Toronto explore Osuna, he's high risk at the moment with injury, not to mention the backlash it presents.

Shatkins said they're pretty sure that Springer should be good to go for opening day. With that being said, it sounds like worse case scenario would be he misses opening day (Thursday) and starts his season in game two on Saturday. The Friday off day after game one is definitely a benefit.

JuniorFelix54 Verified Member Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Such stupidity, gee what a surprise when you sign a gimp coming off surgery who just missed 90 % of last season with pitching arm issues. Now they can pay him to sit home like the Padres did last year, great signing

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Yeah grade 2 oblique strain normally means weeks... and it can linger and get hurt again Proper rest time for you or me is months, no way he's ready anytime soon.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Proper rest time for you or me is months, no way he's ready anytime soon. They should definitely take their time on this one. I've had oblique issues in the past, and it's super easy to aggravate the area doing menial easy tasks and be right back at square one. Besides, they have 3 starting quality MLB outfielders available until Springer is healed up, and Jonathan Davis has a nice 4th outfielder toolset.

Yeah, that's what Atkins said, they took the risk. Ah, well.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Damn man... back to back years of losing our closer. Is Osuna still a free agent?
