So sad, first Fernandez then Garcia - gone too soon. I recall Garcia was one of the key players who helped the Jays evolve from it's expansion era beginnings into a perennial winning team in the mid-80's that eventually led to the Championships in the early 90's. RIP.

I read a good article from CBC that recaps nicely his days with the Jays: https://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/damaso-garcia-dead-blue-jays-mlb-1.5533138

Damaso was the best soccer player in our country. In the end he decided to play baseball. He was in bed for his illness

I loved Damo but he sure didn't like taking his Walks . . .

PA: 4124

BA: .283

OBP: .309

Can you think of anybody else who had over 4000 career PAs with a BA of over .280 and a sub .310 OBP? haha

Not many, if there are any. Yuniesky Betancourt came to mind, but he wasn't quite there with the batting average.
