Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) Egregious choices and/or omissions. 1. Where the f*** is Ken Giles? 2. Jose Abreu with his 109 wRC+ and 0.5 WAR made the team over Yoan Moncada and his 132 wRC+/2.4 WAR 3. Xander Bogaerts got hilariously robbed. 3.7 WAR - 5th highest in the entire league among position players - and he couldn't make the team over J.D. Martinez who's been a worse hitter and contributed 1.8 WAR. 4. Max Muncy, 3.2 WAR - 11th in the league - not on the roster. 5. Lance Lynn and Chris Sale didn't make it, muh ERA. It's nice to know nothing has changed. 6. David Dahl made it with a 121 wRC+ and 1.4 WAR. Beats out Alex Verdugo, Hunter Renfroe, Marcell Ozuna, Michael Conforto, all of whom were similar or better hitters but don't have the luxury of Coors and were better defenders. Laika Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Reminder that all star selections actually matter in arbitration
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Author Posted July 1, 2019 Sandy Alcantara? Marlins rep should've been Garrett Cooper.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 In general way too many relievers There should have been one more though!
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 System is broken Why does it take so long for MLB to fix s***? It's been bad for years, fix this s***.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Marlins rep should've been Garrett Cooper. I wish I could thank this post twice
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Why does it take so long for MLB to fix s***? It's been bad for years, fix this s***. What is there to fix? It's a popularity contest driven by fans who want to see what they want to see. Not every baseball fan fits the mold of a 30 year old message board posting advanced stat geek.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 There should have been one more though! They should have chosen Giles then injury replaced him with Stroman. Would have made more sense. Additionally 4 DH's is just stupid. Drop Meadows and put in Kepler. Drop JD Martinez and put in Xander. Drop Abreu and have Vogelbach be the back up 1B, give the spot to any of the deserving candidates (Moncada, even Semien would be fine). I just made the AL team with only small discussion points. Oh wait that is the entire point of bad decisions.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Giles is a significant snub. If he was on any kind of playoff team he would be an All-Star.

You can still have fans vote, and not be a cluster f*** like it currently is.
