Ex Player Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 Then it's time for them to go. We have the technology to ensure that not a single strike call is wrong, and yet we're relying on petulant children? I'll go with the robot overlords, thanks. Its the way of the future. I'm sure once they get all the bugs worked we'll see auto-strike technology. I think it will benefit pitchers more than hitters though, cause it'll make it easier to paint the corners

I think it will benefit pitchers more than hitters though, cause it'll make it easier to paint the corners I genuinely don't care who it benefits more, I just want it to be accurate and consistent and umpires have proven that they cannot achieve either of those goals. Edit: I am just as angry when a pitcher is robbed of a strike on a beautiful pitch as I am when a batter is f***ed on a strike call that's off the plate.

Having the same strikezone across the board means nobody is getting f***ed.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 I think it will benefit pitchers more than hitters though, cause it'll make it easier to paint the corners It feels to me like most bad calls are on balls outside the zone rather than inside it, in which case it should benefit the hitters more. I don't have proof of that though.
