lol Sports Action had a prop bet today, Angels homer over/under 1.5, Over paid out 1.80. I put 40 bones on that combined with Washington hits over 7.5.

I wish I did more with that bet option, seems like candy from a baby. I did also put 75$ on the Angels ML with an online bet though.

No easier money than when Jackson takes the mound.

I don't know about that, Nick Kingham's stuff is not what it was, and this is a guy that already wasn't exactly killing it with his previous pitch mix.

So who would you go with SRF, he's been a bit better lately in Buffalo?

At this point it doesn't really matter, I think we've had enough of Edwin Jackson though. So whatever I guess.

Maybe they'll give a couple starts to Waguespack.

You don't need to tell Vladdy how to play the game, he's the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be.

I don't know if it's just fluke or a mechanical thing but he only seems to hit the ball hard to center. Almost everything he pulls is on the ground.

Also he seems to swing at more bad pitches then I thought he would. Watching Biggio it's like night and day. Biggio takes everything close, and that's what I thought we were going to get in Vlad. He just swings way more than I thought he would.

I know the original comment was he should cream first pitch meat balls... that too. The expection was he was a generational hitter who would cream meatballs and take the close pitches...

A long ways to go, but he has a lot to learn. Miguel Cabrera had a similar first year.

Well yeah, lol. Doesn't seem like Kingham would be in the plans after going just 1 inning here. Paulino pitched last night, and SRF scheduled to start tomorrow night. Hmmm... or they piggy-back Gaviglio and Pannone.

I mean, maybe give Vlad some time. He's 20.

haha Vladdy just doggin' it down the line on that double play ball... I know it's a blow-out, but still a pretty bad look, especially for a rook.[/quote

I noticed that too he could have beat that out easily

I know its only 1 scoreless inning, but I'm super happy for Phelps

Yeah man, that was a cool moment!

He could definitely be one of our best pen-arms this year.

Yeah, I'm surprised no one commented about that here. When they switched the camera angle to first you could tell he was clearly jogging and Schulman sounded taken aback by it.

Maybe the kids getting a little frustrated with the losing?

Hopefully Montoya gave Vlad s*** about that

I'd hope so. It sets a bad precedent. That's also the problem with the lack of respected veterans on the roster, no good players to hold the young guys accountable.

Apparently you didn't get the memo that the importance of 'vetrin presinz' is a myth :P

Sogard, Smoak, Galvis and Giles fall under that category.

Oh yeah, I am being totally sarcastic because I believe the exact opposite. But that was the response I got when suggesting Smoak's presence was of value beyond what he contributes individually on the field.

ETA also Phelps, Richard and Jackson (barf)

Is this what does Biggio looks like when the umps don’t screw him over?

Yeah he has been given some tough calls, but he did a nice job there not missing the mistake - that's what a good hitter (unlike Grichuk) does - almost always punish the center-cut mistakes.

Issue with vlad is perception. Has there been a more hyped hitting prospect? He was being projected to be a beast even his first year. Tough to live up to the hype, so unless he got off to a great start he was never going to match the hype right away.

He chases way more then I thought he would considering the hype, but he's 20.
