Why any pitcher would even attempt at pitching Martin on the corners and risk a high pitch count type at bat is just stupid. Just flood the strike early and often as he still has a decent eye, but couldn't hit the ball off a tee in the strike zone.

Smoak is great.

 

I have to admit it looked liked he was on the road to regression a few weeks ago. He's been a great signing providing tons of value. That being said, his trade value could be at an all time high when you combine his success carrying over a season and a half now with a cheap team option for next year attached.

Man Stroman really is an exceptional athlete. If he were like 6-7 inches taller with that athleticism he could've had his pick at any sport professionally most likely.

Super slow release from Martin.

 

It was but in his defense it's much harder to get rid of the ball when there's a swing, especially on a 3-2 count.
