The Jays offense will be pathetic this season. Low on-base %, slow, no one really knows how to lay down a bunt or hit behind the runner. You'll get, like the first 2 games, the occasionnal solo home-run, but not much else. I read some faithful saying our "braintrust" is building something...Where? Vlad Jr was AA's signing. No pitching coming down from the farm system. Martin is pretty much done and no reliable or obvius replacement coming down the pipe. Our "braintrust" had an MVP player they could have trade for solid prospects last winter, no move was made. Who will play and support Bo Bichette and Vlad Jr in 2 or 3 years? Who?

I admit the first two games have not shown a very positive future for this team but this kind of outbursts are unnecessary.

That means Stroman, ozuna, sanchez, estrada and Donaldson all need to be traded for blue chip prospects.

 

Then you can have about 8 or 9 guys all coming up at the same time as guerroro and bichette in a few years. Instead of just those two and nothing else.

 

This trying to compete and build doesn't work unless you are the yankees.

Why are you advocating the Jays sell their young studs? Sanchez, Stro, Osuna will be valuable for years and years.

Martin has been a 2 win player the last couple years playing hurt a lot of the time. Right now he's much healthier than he was at the beginning of last year. We have no obvious replacement for Martin? We had a 22 year old catcher hit .323/400/484 across A/AA/AAA and he walked 41 times and only struck out 40 times. I'm pretty sure those numbers qualify as someone who could be a potential replacement down the road.

For the Blue Jays to remain relevant, it's all going to come down to their starting pitching. Even their bullpen worries me after Osuna. And that's only to be in the race for the second Wild Card spot. Also, they'll be competing with other teams for that spot amongst Minnesota, Boston, Angels, Mariners, Rangers, and the A's. I don't really have high expectations for the Jays this season.

I never said anything like that. Just judging from what I saw with his throwing motion it looked pretty bad... And if he's favouring it that much there's a good chance it could impact his hitting. Even minute variances can impact your success rate. So ya, playing with a sore earlobe is one thing... Playing where it's starting to change your mechanics is something else entirely.
