Ray Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Maile is a really good framer. Stole a couple balls there.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Bautista still looks lost Watches two meatballs down the heart of the plate for strikes and ends up being busted inside. Someone get this guy mad.
polar bear Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Bautista still looks lost Smoak was better this time last year than Bautista is now,and everyone(including myself) we're calling for his blood. Why isn't old Turftoe getting the same treatment ? The guy is a total waste of time.
justafan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 He is awful. Never the same since that dumb throw to 1st 2 years ago against Baltimore. Forget who was running. Bautista still looks lost
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Filthy changeup, damn. Shakes off the fastball and says "no,watch this".
justafan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 I could see Barney over Travis, but not Goins. Goins is good to have on the roster and leave it at that. For the record, he's not a particularly good SS defender, so no he's not a capable backup for Tulo. He's substantially worse than Barney, which makes Goins on a healthy Blue Jays team quite expendable. I don't mind his presence on the team at this moment, someone's gotta cover for the injured guys and Goins is apparently well liked in the clubhouse, but there are people that are acting as if he's anywhere better than a replacement level player, and some are acting as if he should be starting over Devon Travis.

Well no, that statement is objectively wrong. Barney is a superior defender and hitter to Goins. Travis is going through a rough patch right now but has at least showed an ability to be an above average major league 2B. Goins is the definition of a replacement level player.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 capitalize here before the butcher Maile gets to the plate
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Omg who the f*** ordered for a bunt against this pitcher?
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Woof. I dont know about Maile here Forgot about Travis, evidently.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Why did they bunt against this guy
justafan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Great job Barney. That is baseball! Nice bunt Barney.
justafan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Sorry, have to disagree. I believe Travis to be poor defensively. Absolutely there is hope. Not enough time to tell if his hitting is real or not. We do know about Goins but no so much about Barney either. Barney has impressive history. Well no, that statement is objectively wrong. Not enough time to tell if his hitting is real or not. We do know about Goins but no so much about Barney either. Barney has impressive history. Travis is average defensively, his defensive prowess is skewed in the eyes of people because he's made some dumb plays in the field. I never even suggested that Travis is a better defender than those guys, but Barney is clearly the superior defender to them all. We actually do know a lot more about the latter, he's been in the league for longer and has stuck around because of his excellent defensive work, and for the Jays he's at least provided adequate offensive output, unlike Goins.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Sorry, have to disagree. I believe Travis to be poor defensively. I believe Travis as an average defensive 2b. The difference between the 2 beliefs? Mine is right. Yours isn't.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Zeke magic doesn't exist on the defensive end
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Zeke... "I'm also Superman"..... LOL.... NOT
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Lmfao Carrera covered his face on the effort. Pearce! What a play!
