JuniorFelix Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 How many innings would they let Joe go? 6? 100 pitches?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 How many innings would they let Joe go? 6? 100 pitches? They'll probably cap him at 75-80 pitches, or 5 innings, whichever comes first.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Does no one get that Ryan Goins still isn't hitting? If a 77 wRC+ is an offensive outburst from him then maybe the Jays media should realize he's not very good? Hell, he has a .211 average and .651 OPS, by the casual standards that's not very good! The defensive stats don't even believe he's an above average defender lol (this part is arguable because defensive stats are pretty unreliable, but he's clearly not as good as everyone believes him to be).
justafan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 211 as a back up is a lot better than joey! I like Goins. The question is how long does Travis get to keep 2nd base? justafan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 He makes $500k and is a backup. Team mates like him. Gimme a break. Does no one get that Ryan Goins still isn't hitting? rolliesmustache Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Goins as a backup is fine. Problem is, he's been pushed into an every day role.

But he had four RBI's and a walk off hit, breakout season.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Nasty changeup there, which some might argue was at 87 MPH, others will say it was 82. Semantics aside, another great start for Biagini.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 That was an impressive K over Cruz. Got him to look at a first pitch breaking ball and then had him swing well over top of a spiking two seamer and a changeup.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 biagini is the man, love watching him pitch
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Pillar obviously knows all about this pitcher. He played against him in highschool, some 10 or so years ago!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 This guy is seriously junkballing right now.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Wow this pitcher is really really bad.
justafan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 I agree with you. He is backup and not a starter. I would expect more from a starter. I think he is very capable of backing up Tulo. As backup, I am quite happy. Goins as a backup is fine. Problem is, he's been pushed into an every day role.
Ray Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 That was a painful AB. Two pitches served up on a platter and he just watches them
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Bautista still looks lost
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Can't make a habit of letting those opportunities go by, don't let this shitballer get comfortable.
rolliesmustache Verified Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 So how much longer does Gibbons stay with Bautista in the 3 hole before bumping him down the lineup? I imagine Jose has a pretty long leash but this is getting ridiculous.

As backup, I am quite happy. For the record, he's not a particularly good SS defender, so no he's not a capable backup for Tulo. He's substantially worse than Barney, which makes Goins on a healthy Blue Jays team quite expendable. I don't mind his presence on the team at this moment, someone's gotta cover for the injured guys and Goins is apparently well liked in the clubhouse, but there are people that are acting as if he's anywhere better than a replacement level player, and some are acting as if he should be starting over Devon Travis.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
