The umps were horrendous, but if a MLB 2B bounces a throw to home with the IF in and the offense cant string together more than 7 hits off a Chavez start, you aren't going to win too often.This team is injured and just bad right now.

It's always really interesting to see where management will set the line between "can't panic" and "can't stand for this", whenever these types of brutal skids go on.

Yep, I posted that link about a week ago. Seems like it continues to be very relevant as the Jays sink deeper. It's one thing to be undermanned, but the fill-ins still need to be able to play fundamentally sound. If the front office decides they "can't stand for this nonsense any longer" (as they should), how do they respond? Doesn't Gibbons have to be held accountable for this clusterf***?

I hate these sorts of excuses. We outplayed the Angels and the umpires changed the outcome of the game. That's the end of it. Any mistakes that we made have nothing to do with it.

It had plenty to do with it. Just because the umpire was s*** doesn't give them any excuses for all the mental mistakes. RF, LF and 3B defence was atrocious. Base running was just as bad. Zeke at the center of most it. But he stays in the lineup everyday because all his flares are dropping.

Baseball is a game of mistakes. I'm not saying that they are acceptable, but we outplayed the opponent and that should be good enough. The umpires decided the game, not our mistakes.
