Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 If you listen to Zaun, then maybe you shouldnt have an opinion lol. I think the idea that the F.O. saw Feldman as an upgrade over Chavez is a valid point no matter who said it.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I think it was more about getting Bolsinger than any upgrade from Chavez to Feldman. I think we could have had Bolsinger for less than Guadalupe Chavez and the salaries of Feldman and Jesse Chavez if that were the case, but we'll never know.

Probably not. The Dodgers were obviously looking for bullpen help/depth. They wouldn't have traded Bolsy for less than an 18 year old in the gulf coast league.

We could have likely had him for less 'value' than a decent prospect and several million dollars. A quick look at the Dodgers 40 man shows Bolsinger as an easy DFA candidate if they were healthy and/or made some other moves. A big part of this series of moves was the perceived upgrade from Chavez to Feldman in my opinion. Edited August 2, 2016 by Grant77
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 You do know Hendriks has been horrible this year right? 3.59 FIP and worth .5 WAR out of then pen after a tough start. Not last year but he has a lot time to get on a roll. Wouldn't call that horrible.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Hard to recognize him without the scared shitless on the verge of a panic attack look on his face. This is one of the funniest posts I've read in a while. Thanks for that. Funny because it's true.

Wouldn't call that horrible. And doesn't he have three more years of control? That and the Valencia "trade" were two of the weirdest deals we've done in the last couple of seasons.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I remember when Arizona jettisoned him there was someone hounding AA through the means of this board to go pick him up. I hope that person is happy now!

Cyborg Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Why does la want chavez Because he projects very well and they dont have the hinderence of confirmation bias. 2.80 ERA, 3.15 FIP projected by Steamer in LA.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Why does la want chavez Will have a stronger ERA/FIP in a pitchers park like Dodgers stadium. Cyborg beat me to it.
wamco Verified Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Steamer must not watch Chavez pitch. Any pitcher would obviously project better in a pitchers park than a hitters park. How bad is bolsinger to give up for ugly Chavez?
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4109-Diamondbacks-DFA-Mike-Bolsinger You are like the librarian of this board. Too bad that job is pretty much obsolete now or else you would have had a comfortable unionized career.
