jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Dude was almost traded and handled it like a complete pro. Hitting an amazing 144 wRC+ (Career best). Third on the team in fWAR (1.8) and will probably net us a draft pick. Show your appreciation for Captain Canada in this thread. Here's to you Saunders. We love you.
banned Verified Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I thought he was done....great story so far.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I'll be happy when I never have to a #VoteCaptainCanada tweet again.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 We should show appreciation in votes!!! This dude is having his career season, great timing too with that giant question mark in LF coming into the year with Revere gone. This is our season!!!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I liked the trade when it happened, and it looks like we actually won the trade, even with him missing a season
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 So happy for him and the Jays Great season so far
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Anyone for a contract extension or just enjoy the season Jes giving us
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Anyone for a contract extension or just enjoy the season Jes giving us You let him finish the season and then QO him. If the contract extension is reasonable then you do it and if not...you take the draft pick and run.
CrackerJack Verified Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 when the Jays repeat as division champs, does Alex repeat as executive of the year?

CrackerJack Verified Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Mods. Alex gave a departing gift to Rogers of a guaranteed slam dunk 3 M attendance, and how many are coming to see Drew Storen pitch?

CrackerJack Verified Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 How about dem Indians? I'm not saying Shapiro's bad, but the 2016 Jays are Alex's team.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Just voted about 30 times for him! Is there a way to see who's leading in the vote?

KevinGregg Verified Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Grilli, Happ...need I go on? Chavez and morales are about all you missed. 4 bullpen arms and a starter. This is 99% Alex's team still.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Very happy for him (and us). I give him props for fighting back after a major freak injury 2015. Hate to say this but I don't trust this production and its not just the .372 BABIP. Also think he is a breakable object who is scary on D. If he continues to rake at anywhere near these levels and stays on the field, make QO and take the one year risk or let him walk for pick.

There's really no other debate unless he's willing to sign a 2 year deal at a massive discount - or wants 1 year guaranteed with club options or something.

The thing though is he has been making a lot of hard hit contact. And he isn't hitting dribblers here and there. It's solid, line drive power to all fields. He's red hot, but I don't think he's lucky. When he settles down I think he'll still be a good player.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Saunders at 2.0 fWAR after last nights game!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Saunders at 2.0 fWAR after last nights game! Awesome. Would have happily accepted a 1-2 WAR season from him back in April. Awesome that he will likely exceed that significantly.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Meanwhile Ben Revere is at -0.9 with a 49 wRC in 221 PA
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Meanwhile, Jay Bruce is at exactly 0.0 WAR despite a .358 wOBA.
