Dickey (1-2, 6.75 ERA) vs Ubaldo Jimenez (1-1, 3.75 ERA) JAYS LINEUP 1. Saunders 2. Donaldson 3. Bautista 4. Encarnacion (DH) 5. Tulowitzki 6. Colabello (1B) 7. Goins 8. Pillar 9. Thole © ORIOLES LINEUP 1. Rickard 2. Machado 3. Jones 4. Davis 5. Trumbo 6. Hardy 7. Schoop 8. Alvarez 9. Joseph Four things to know about this game: • Russell Martin has more at-bats against Jimenez than anyone else in the Blue Jays' lineup, but he won't be starting with Dickey on the mound. Backup backstop Josh Thole will get the call instead, as he does for all of Dickey's starts. • Toronto went 11-8 vs. Baltimore last year, which was the Blue Jays' first winning season against the O's since 2011. From 2012-14, Toronto went 24-32 against Baltimore and is 14-24 at Camden Yards during that same span. • The heart of the Blue Jays' order -- Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion -- are a combined 10-for-79 all-time against Jimenez. The Orioles trio of Manny Machado, Adam Jones and Chris Davis are 14-for-66 in their careers against Dickey. • Orioles hangout suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx GDT Record: 3-0 Putting my balls on the table with Dickey pitching, hope you all appreciate it. Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Makes to much sense to have Smoak who is actually getting on base to hit against the RHP. f***
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Let's Go Blue Jays!!!!!!!!!!!!
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 So I see Gibby won't allow Colabello or Smoak any consistent AB's, really difficult to get something going like this. I thought Smoak had several good AB's yesterday to warrant him another start tonight. He must be frustrated as f***.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I hate watching Dickey starts. Some of the most laboured, excruciating baseball possible. Somebody get counts going for the following events: Full counts (add a gold star for one that goes full from 0-2) Wild pitches/passed balls 2-strike hits
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I predict 3 dingers agonist Dickey today. We need to score 7 to 8 runs to win today.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Let's hope Dickey is just having a typical slow start to the season. If he's still struggling at the end of June, you have to try and move him for something. Insert Floyd to the rotation.

That should help.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 You could turn it into a drinking game. That should help. I only have a quarter of a bottle left of the only non-wine booze in the house. Then what will I do for the next 8.2 innings?

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Switch to wine? A GDT is enough whine for me, thanks.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Jesse Chavez (Back) unavailable for tonight game. Osuna ready to go
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Pete Walker is captain of the "pitch to contact" parade, he's admitting it as I type this on Tim and Sid.. Ughh..
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Got to love a pitcher with his own personal caddie.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Pete Walker is captain of the "pitch to contact" parade, he's admitting it as I type this on Tim and Sid.. Ughh.. Pete Walker was a s*** pitcher, I don't know what business he has teaching pitchers far superior to what he ever was.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Pete Walker was a s*** pitcher, I don't know what business he has teaching pitchers far superior to what he ever was. A players own performance has nothing to do with their coaching ability This extends across sports, where even Jordan and Gretzky have failed as coaches while hard working players like Cash, Kerr etc. There is no correlation between the two.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 You can clearly see where this horrible "pitch to contact" mantra is stemming from just looking at their pitching coach's career.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Pete Walker is captain of the "pitch to contact" parade, he's admitting it as I type this on Tim and Sid.. Ughh.. Keep in mind that the Jays have an elite defense, maybe best in MLB.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 DMurphy and his PUT DAT BALL, now Pete Walker and his PITCH TO CONTACT
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 DMurphy and his PUT DAT BALL, now Pete Walker and his PITCH TO CONTACT And as long as the results continue to be strong, nothing will change .

It used to be lots of walks and no strikeouts before so I'm encouraged by his start to the season.
