I just don't understand how a guy like Pillar can be 'given' the leadoff spot with little to no success as a major league hitter, hopefully Gibby can see the light before the season starts.

I'm confident Gibby will pull the plug if it gets too bloody too. He seems fairly adaptable when it comes to the batting order.

I wouldn't say it's terribly likely that Travis comes back quickly but if he did it would make the decision even more inconsequential.

Because his have been described as flat, slow, and are many times crushed. They also note that his release looks off, leading to these, which seemed to be a consistent issue for him last season regarding his command.

I think the bat is going to be really good like a 115wRC+ or higher. Big question is how he does in the OF.

That could very well be true. There's a pretty good possibility Bruce suck ass this year which would also make the front office look stupid (and damn lucky it didn't go through).

This lineup is absolutely crazy. Edwin hasn't even played this Spring and the lineup without him is still terrifying.

 

EDIT: And Saunders with a huge double. Dude should be leading off. Gibby christened Pillar with the job without even giving open try outs a fair shake. It's painfully obvious the decision was based on nothing but perception.
