I know I complain about this every year, but Yahoo only letting you IL players on the actual MLB IL doesn’t work when MLB teams don’t use the IL in September. So playoff teams in keeper leagues are stuck punting roster spots on injured players. The get it right with the NHL, when even day-to-day players can be IR’d. What a terrible service.

 

100% agree. How hard would it be to have the IR+ option like they do for hockey. Fantrax gets it right.

Fantrax is unarguably better than Yahoo at this point. It's like, 3 years overdue from moving all board leagues.

I'm tired of working off the spreadsheet for picks and prospects, and the issue with MLB teams not using the DL infuriates me every September. It's f***ing stupid to stick with an inferior site because it looks a bit better aesthetically.

So I’m looking over Fantrax’s free league options, and it seems to fit all of our needs (up to 24 owners, draft picks, minor leagues). So we wouldn’t have to worry about league fees like we do in LoD.

 

The way I see it there are two major benefits to switching:

 

1. Prospects and picks would be tracked and traded on Fantrax, eliminating the administrative burden of tracking everything on the google sheet.

 

2. Players who are injured in September but not DL’d by their MLB team (because most teams don’t use the DL in September) could be put on the DL in Fantrax, and their owners wouldn’t be stuck with wasted roster spots in the playoffs.

 

I think these are very significant upgrades to the league that are worth moving for.

 

Does anyone have any concerns about moving to Fantrax that don’t boil down to “we’ve always been on Yahoo”?

I don't care either way, I'd just be collecting more teams on fantrax all in one place (FC moved to FT), but I don't want people quitting over it, if Dinger's serious?

Besides the visually pleasing part, I like how easy Yahoo’s app is to manage. And besides that, and I know I’m in the minority here but I like the updates. They’re always relevant. On fantrax it’s like Vlad when 1-4 today and finished with a .275 average
