For the people who lost out on Godley, I still may move Porcello. Kyle Seager is also a trade candidate. That said, my farm just got a whole lot deeper, so it will be harder to maneuver.

Godley's stock has ascended since then, so I probably would have been greedy about it. BTS gave me a very good package, although at least half of it was for Chapman.

While I understand that completely, as has Gallo's stock.

Now watch Dom Smith blossom into a slugger after I wanted nothing to do with him in this deal.

Report: Mets to call up Dominic Smith 'soon'

http://www.rotoworld.com/images/headshots/MLB/7474.jpg

Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports that the Mets are expected to call up first base prospect Dominic Smith "soon."

Multiple outlets reported Thursday that a Smith promotion wasn't imminent even after Lucas Duda was traded. However, the club is probably just waiting for more trade dominoes to fall with Jay Bruce, Curtis Granderson and Asdrubal Cabrera all likely to be dealt in the next few days. Top prospect Amed Rosario also figures to join Smith in the majors soon. A first-round pick in the 2013 Draft, Smith sports a .337/.390/.524 batting line with 15 homers at Triple-A Las Vegas this season. Those numbers are inflated by the environment at Vegas, but Smith is one of the top first base prospects in the game and is worth stashing now in deep formats.

I like Dom Smith a fair bit. I probably valued him more than any of my guys after Brinson - MLB-ready and seems like he has a significant chance to do similar things to 2017 Hosmer.

True, I wasn't sure if you were referring to Gallo or Dahl (who's stock is not doing well). I definitely prefer Brinson to Dahl at this point.

I have major prejudice against 1B prospects without 60+ power. I also have a foible where once I decide I don't like a prospect, I rarely change my mind.

Still might be in the market for another good SP. Have some decent assets to move:

- Raimel Tapia, Dom Smith, Nick Gordon, Jorge Mateo, Jeren Kendall, the mysterious Jose Albertos

- Anthony Banda, who's occupying an N/A slot

- 1st and 2nd round MiLB picks

- possibly Justin Bour, who is currently on the DL with an oblique strain

Kinda surprised I haven't been heavily criticized for the Godley/Chapman trade. I'm definitely buying Godley early here, and Brinson is a borderline elite prospect.

What was the trade?

Honestly, I kinda like it for you. Brinson would be tough to give up, but the others all have significant risk of busting imo (at least in a fantasy sense). I'm not completely sold that Godley is really this good, but even if he settles in to an upper 3's ERA range, you probably don't regret the trade at all.

If he wins a championship this year, he shouldn't regret it even if Brinson becomes a star. It's a huge boost to his chance of winning in the short-term.

Yeah, I like it for BTS. I'm biased though because I'm not a Brinson fan at all. Fair trade though.

I like that for you. I'm regretting putting off making an offer until lunch time.

Not too late to get in on the Porcello/Seager sweepstakes.

Can I ask why you're not a Brinson fan? Seems to check off all the boxes: plus raw power that shows reasonably well in games, walks, decent K-rates, speed to steal 20 bags a year, and a lock to stick in CF.

Hmm...apparently I may be the only person who doesn't like Brinson very much.

Edit: Oh. JFL, too.

Probably the K rate. I wasn't a big fan of Brinson this time last year, but he just kept raking, and Milwaukee is a stellar fantasy park.

I'm not convinced he'll be a star, but I think he'll be a solid regular. I feel right now like his hype is greater than his actual value will be.

Yeah, and his big break out numbers came playing at Colorado Springs in the PCL.

In another dynasty league back in 2010 I traded Bumgarner, Asdrubal and either a draft pick or another pitching spec for Roy Halladay. Ended up winning the championship that season. Asdrubal went onto hit 25 HR's the following season and Bumgarner went onto becoming one of the best young pitchers in baseball whereas Halladay was out of baseball after 2013. Losing an arm like Bumgarner to this day hurts, though I don't regret it one bit because having Doc helped me win a championship that season.

Flags fly forever. I really want to win my first forum dynasty title.

Dear BTS,

Please start Leake against Arizona tomorrow.

They've been a horrible offense for years now and nothing has changed. He'll be fine.

Sincerely,

Your friend P2F
