The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Anyone have a SP they are open to dealing for an OFer? I have Gregory Polanco or Odubel Herrera that I could move.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I believe Marco Estrada is available. Estrada for Polanco seems fair. Whats my finder's fee?

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 But that is kinda the deal I'm looking to make. Struggling OFer for struggling starter.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Didn't anyone tell you this is a dynasty and not a re-draft? Polanco sux tho which is why you're shopping him.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I'll take them for my 2018 3rd. I pre-confirm. Cool. I'll process on the sheet tonight.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Polanco sux tho which is why you're shopping him. Or it's because I have 6 OFers for 3 spots. Figured Polanco makes the most sense to move, only 25, likely to bring back a better SP
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I'll be cutting Josh Naylor and Roman Quinn at the deadline. So if anyone wants one, they're yours for a 2018 3rd or a 3 -> 2 waiver upgrade.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I offered my #2 overall for Snell. If anyone has a similar pitcher available for that pick, hit me up and I'll see if I like them
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 OK, just one more clairification. I understand that we have to cut down to 12 players before the draft. But once the draft starts, we can have a total of 14 players (or more) on our milb roster (combining what we had when the draft started, plus the new players we draft). Is that accurate? This is important to understand how many picks/prospects teams need to dump before the draft starts. Key Dates: July 11 (one week before draft): 12 milb players. July 17(draft day): milb rosters expand to 14? Please confirm. July 21 (or whenever draft ends). milb rosters fixed at 14? Or more? MARCH 1ST (cut down to 12-14 milb players (depending on how many MLB players kept) March 7th- July 11 (14 or more max milb players?)

No, there's a 12-prospect limit from the cut down date until the offseason. July prospect cut down: 12 prospect limit offseason - no roster limits pre-season cut: can protect 32 total players, 10-14 of which can be prospects post-cut to July prospect cutdown: 14 prospect limit
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 No, there's a 12-prospect limit from the cut down date until the offseason. Don't get this from the pg. 1 rules. This screws my strategy. I read it the same way as AG, cut down to 12 before rule 5, 14 after rule 5.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 There would be no reason to force a team with 14 prospects to cut down to 12, just to draft two more to get back to 14. It's the same as last year: 12 through to the offseason, then unlimited rosters, then flexibility for the March cutdown.

I thought the cut down was to force some tough decisions, which prospects to keep and make available to everyone else, vs. the unknown of who might be available when its your turn to pick.

We need Spittin to make a ruling on this, and then we still have time to trade/drop etc before the draft starts.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I offered my #2 overall for Snell. If anyone has a similar pitcher available for that pick, hit me up and I'll see if I like them I think it'll be hard to find someone willing to give up a good, young pitcher for the #2. The guy you're giving up probably has the same upside as the guy you draft, but you'll have to wait a few years to know for sure. A player in his early 30s I could see though. That said, if someone thinks they have a fit, I'd be interested in a 3-way. There's 2 guys I want with the first overall selection, and I really don't want to choose between them.

I've gotten a couple offers already but nothing I'd put with Snell. Though I like him more than most prob. I definitely wouldn't have traded #2 overall for Happ so it's all about preference I guess
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 You should've traded me Salazar as like Harvey his value will probably continue to plummet
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 "If teams acquire more than 12 prospects via trade or draft then they can cut down to a minimum 18 MLB players and carry a maximum of 14 prospects through the cut down period but will be required to cut down to a maximum of 12 prospects before the July MiLB draft." The rules seem to imply that it's possible to get more than 12 players by drafting. How would this be possible, if you couldn't exceed more than 12 spots on your milb roster? Also, it's gonna be a pretty short draft with only 12 spots. Most of these picks are gonna dissolve.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 You should've traded me Salazar as like Harvey his value will probably continue to plummet If I traded Salazar, the #2 pick would be a sweetener, not the main attraction.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Also, it's gonna be a pretty short draft with only 12 spots. Most of these picks are gonna dissolve. Really no different than the other leagues (except LOD). This arrangement just gives a little more flexibility heading into the season. I do think we should allow unlimited MiLB during the seasons too though, while still forcing the limits at the two cut downs. I don't see any reason why this would be bad realistically.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Blake Glasnow probably saved me from myself
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Blake Glasnow probably saved me from myself I see what you did there.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I've already promoted Hoskins Also promoting Devers and Luke Weaver Cutting Ariel Juardo

We need Spittin to make a ruling on this, and then we still have time to trade/drop etc before the draft starts. Yes we need a ruling. I had been managing my number of top tier prospects and high value picks with the understanding you could have 14 prospects at the conclusion of the rule 5.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Blake Snell suxxxxxxxxx Bit reactionary He's settled down, probably too amped up in the 1st
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Bit reactionary He's settled down, probably too amped up in the 1st I know. I have him in DFS tonight and wanted to let out my frustration.
