Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Also, I'm now prepared to name BTS MVP of the draft. Because his team is good or because he's taken the least amount of time to make his selections? I'm guessing the latter.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Abomination up. I think BTS has his pick?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Abom wants Greg Holland. Of course he does.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Didn't Holland just have TJS done?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Didn't Holland just have TJS done? Yup, in October.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Didn't Holland just have TJS done? He'll probably be worth like a 2nd round MiLB pick in the offseason, which is more than most of these guys will be worth.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 He'll be impossible to keep next cutdown, IMO.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 He'll be impossible to keep next cutdown, IMO. If he signs with a team that will use him as their closer he'd have value. I expect he'll be sign for middle relief and have to work his way back up.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 2015 SwStr% leaders min 25 IP Capps Chapman Uehara Miller Osich He's probably way better than Kenley and Betances, good pick.

SwStr% is a great proxy for Ks, but it isn't perfect. Kenley Jansen strikes out a f*** ton of guys, but he doesn't throw every pitch looking for a whiff.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 You'd think the robot that invented TIPS would have a better understanding of what pitch level data means

Kenley Jansen strikes out a f*** ton of guys, but he doesn't throw every pitch looking for a whiff. He still has a crazy SwStr% at 16.6% last year. Kenley is better because every pitch he throws has a greater than 15% SwStr%, where as Osich is all from his offspeeds and his fastball gets put in play.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 2015 xFIP- leaders min 25 IP 1. Capps (31) 2. Britton (43) 3. Miller (51) 4. Robertson (56) 5. C.Smith (58) 6. Givens (59)

It's actually extraordinary that Jansen gets so many Ks when the batter knows there's only one pitch to watch for.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Posting the stats of payers you just picked is so gauche.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Posting the stats of payers you just picked is so gauche. Unless it's Didi Gregorius, then it's just hilarious.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 155 games, 9 HR, 5 SB, .688 OPS

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 155 games, 9 HR, 5 SB, .688 OPS He's just SO crappy. I'd rather take a shot on a guy with demonstrated upside like Jean S... no wait that's too obvious, let's call him J. Segura.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Maybe even The King. At least EA and AE give you some rare SBs. Didi just sucks balls, and I don't mean that in a complimentary way.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Is Jed! still available? Why would Boxy take Didi over Jed! This is my favourite post of the day. If I still had photoshop, I'd avatar this concept.
