Also are we playing a balanced or unbalanced schedule? I'm fine either way but an unbalanced schedule is a great way to promote interleague trading and create divisional rivalries.

It will make it so much easier to administer and track players, and it will give players like Maeda time to sign so they can be lumped into the MLB draft. Obviously, the MiLB portion can start as soon as we're ready.

 

Another thing, are we limiting the MiLB draft to only players who haven't played an MLB game? What about international players? I would be in favour of limiting the prospect drafted explicitly to players taken in the real-life Rule 4 draft, and international prospects who have played at least one minor league game but no major league games. That way, the prospect draft is for prospects, and international players go into the MLB draft.

I agree with all this stuff. As much as people wanna get the roster draft underway it would be 100 times better to wait until Yahoo has opened up. It would be way easier to search for taken players and to keep track of them.

Plus there's really no rush. There are a bunch of free agents who haven't signed yet whose values hinge on where they land, plus it would be nice to give everyone a month or so to polish up their draft boards and concentrate more on the minor league draft. We won't have any problem finishing an offline MLB draft between February and opening day, we can use dynamic draft windows for ex, start at 6 hours per window and decrease once we're past the 5th round, if necessary.
