RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Gibby is such a tool 164 games too late bud
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Good, they moved Tulo down in the lineup. Hopefully it helps our offense.. we need this game so that we can play on Thanksgiving tomorrow.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Marquez home plate ump. GG Hopefully he's better than Vic Carapazza... what a horrid umpire he was in Game 2!
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Could be the last game of the Jays season. Enjoy it no matter what happens, fellas.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 What a horrid end would it be should we lose
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Navarro? Seriously gibby Why not, Got to switch it up.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Bello in the 5 spot, 2 games too late.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Yeah, happy to see Cola in there. But don't understand why they have Martin sitting (.937 OPS vs LHP this year) against a lefty. Navarro is decent against lefties too, but just not as good as Martin.

Gibby not messing with Estrada-Navarro chemistry...know kind of agree with him, but reluctently
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Navarro? Seriously gibby Navarro catches Estrada. Martin will be back in there if there's a Game 4.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Relax Navarro isn't horrible the only thing I am nervous about is Odur and Shields running on him but Martin will be put in if need be
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 the boys need to win one for the franchise tonight. don't want them to go out with a whimper. This has been a great season and I'd be sad to it end without them putting up a fight. LETS GO BLUE JAYS

Estrada's ERA is a run better with Navvy catching according to Gibby. What possibly could Navvy being doing that Martin couldn't, when Martin is > on every front? That's a serious question.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 We got dis. Going away from the RC crowd and away from the pressure will help, get their groove back on. They are too good of a team, defensively, mechanically, and offensively to be as s***** as the first two games. #TRUEBLUE

That's not really the point though. We have one of the best C in MLB on the bench is the point.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Also, note, that if there is another game tomorrow, its Dickey @ 3, not Price. Gibbons and his trust, man never changes!

If that's the decision (and its confirmed) there is something going on with Price we haven't been told yet.

I believe Gregg Zaun (so take it for what you will.. actually it might have been Buck, not 100% sure) said that they call the game quite differently; Navarro apparently calls the game that is more suited for pitchers who rely less on velocity and more on location and trickery such as Estrada and Buehrle (which may explain why he also seems to do a bit better with Navarro behind the plate).

Thanks EMK. Hmmmm....need the stats-nerds to weigh in on this. Seems like a really subjective opinion. Martin caught Mark B this season and he had overall a pretty good year for a guy whose arm failed him at the end of season.

EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I'm thinking Gibby's logic of possibly using Price out of the pen tm might be due to the fact that he's now missing Cecil and badly wants a legitimate LHP from the pen. Perhaps he doesn't have as much faith in Loup in reality even though he's told otherwise to the media...

Perhaps he doesn't have as much faith in Loup in reality even though he's told otherwise to the media... look at what Dallas K did for HOU in the WC game on 3 days rest. We didn't trade Norris and Boyd for a LH reliever out of the pen. More to this story. If Price started game 4 and was on....there might not even be a need for a LHP from the pen.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 Hard to see Gibby's logic on this one. Dickey was throwing the ball well but when he is off hes really off. Our best chance to win is with Price in Game 4 and Stroman in game 5. Will see how it plays. None of this will matter unless we win today. Most of us just want to live to see another game.

I know you can't look forward when you are down 2-0 in a 5 game series, but if they use price tomorrow and Stroman in game 5 they would start the next series with Estrada, dickey? I know you have to win to get to those games.... Jays just need the offense to put good swings on the ball and leave the hero ball at home.
