I've always wondered why Carlos Santana isn't a far better hitter than he is. He has amazing plate discipline. If you could alter that swing to get more power, he could be a legit monster.

 

He's a career 124 wRC+ hitter and having a down year by his standards. I'd say he's done a pretty good job of maximizing his tools.
