I don't think we can bring Dickey back next year. He just doesn't miss bats at all anymore. Can't imagine how much he could decline next year.

 

I'd tend to agree. That's not even getting into the fact that he'll either beat up on your prized $80M+ investment (I think Martin catching Dickey has a lot to do with how hard he's been hurting) or you have to waste a roster spot on his personal caddy. All those sacrifices for 200 wildly inconsistent innings.

The fact that zero pitchers have flourished under his tutelage. With the exception of Stroman who was already good and probably had zero impact.

 

JA Happ? Dickey has said he has helped him. Buehrle is having a couple of good seasons. Don't think he's been bad at all.

Probably helps that the Tigers have a capable pitching coach. Still don't understand how Pete Walker has a job.

 

It's amazing how good pitching coaches look when you surround them with guys like JV, Anibal Sanchez, Scherzer.
