Got to get this win, especially if the Yanks lose.. we have a shot at first place this weekend, as the Yanks stand to get clobbered by the red hot Red Sox this weekend, as their probables for the weekend series are absolute garbage (Pineda, Nova, Eovaldi) vs. a surging Sox lineup that has been red-hot since June, when they started putting Betts/Holt/Bogaerts in 1 thru 3. And the O's get the Nats, and the Rays are DOA basically, especially with Houston coming in to finish off the Rays contention hopes.

 

As for us, the Royals probables aren't great at all, with Duffy (4.40 FIP), Young(4.05 FIP, and overdue for regression), and anyone's guess what Volquez does. In addition, the Royals lineup no longer has Alex Gordon (out 8 weeks). Probables for the Jays are Estrada, Buehrle and Doubront.

Edwin needs a day off, and Navarro's our best DH option without EE in the lineup. Plus, it's to try to boost Dioner's value at the trade deadline, I guess.

He will give us more on D that Carerra or anyone else and if he is given a real shot he may actually put up decent offensive numbers. Even if he doesn't hit, he can actually play OF which would be a bonus.

No idea what we're going to get out of the Shark. Just be aggressive though.. Samardzija doesn't really walk anybody. But his splits are uninspiring.. plus he gets hit hard in the early innings frequently. Got to get a few runs today, especially depending which Dickey we get today.

Watch Samardzija accidently plunk Bautista, causing a bench clearing brawl and choice comments after the game.

Ive actually never been banned before. The only other time i asked Hurl to ban me for losing after making the GDT. I thought it would be funny...but no one cared. lol. Go to the LOD thread in off topic...explained it there, too lazy to do it again.

Even a split in this series is a failure. With Dickey pitching that may even be tough. Jays have to play better baseball then this.

 

LF is a big issue. Pompey could go 0 for 50 and be an upgrade over colabello or Carrera.
