Hello!! Wake up Poon,:D my point is, he,s been a defensive liability from day one with the Jays.

And I said his offense and speed used to be enough to make up for it, now it isn't. ...you slow or something? Lol.

By all accounts his defense was already on the wane before we acquired him.

First article about him that I read after the trade, said that he was not as good defensively as Escobar but had a good arm..

Offensively it said that he was a triples machine and sparkplug....hmm..

If Reyes isn't benched for the next deries in its entirety, I'm honestly done with Gibbons managing this team. Anything short of that is a severe lack of accountability. He clearly looks so ho hum and doesn't seem to give a f*** about it either.

^Gibbons doesn't have the guts to bench Reyes, or tell Reyes to go play LF>

Yup. He seems to have been neutered by the Lilly/Hillebrand incidents. If this was 2005 Gibbons, Reyes would probably have been punched in the face by Gibbons. Unfortunately, this is 2015 Gibbons.

I dont care what WAR says, Reyes alone has cost the Jays division this year. Its just one f*** up after another throwing games right down the toilet.

I highly doubt it...he isn't helping the jays cause, but I'm sure we can all agree it is the rotation that is the main culprit.

I under I udnerstand though that some fans on here let their fervor get the best of them though at times :P.

there's no way Gibbons can do anything with Reyes without Alex's approval, since AA's the one who brought the "superstar" here and got Rogers to buy into the Miami trade by boosting payroll significantly.

yeah, there's no way rogers is gonna pay the guy 20 mil to not play.

22M for the next 3 years

He is Jeteresque.

Jeter didn't make very many plays at the end of his career, but Jeter didn't let grounders go through his legs.

He's a great leadoff hitter though, #.300 OBP.

the thing that REALLY gets to me is that he looks like he is Hollywood-ing plays. if he actually puts in an effort he makes more of the plays, but he wants it to look like he's doing it effortlessly. I'd rather see him bust a nut and make the play!!!

I still dont understand the Marlins trade. I just dont get why AA didn't do the proper f***ing player evaluation.

He traded two short-stops, one making $5m a year with two team options and another Cuban signing with six years of control left, for one that was 30 and owed nearly $100m over the next five years. It made absolutely no sense financially or from a player evaluation standpoint. Reyes would have had to have been worth 5-10 wins more than Escobar for that to make sense, and without looking it up, I'd be surprised if Reyes was worth more than a win above Escobar since the trade happened. Nevermind Hechavarria.

The Marlins trade does not get the flack that it deserves due to the trades that happened before (Gomes) and after (Dickey). That trade was horrendous at the time, and worse in hindsight.

I was against that trade at the time, but in the interest of fairness, I do give AA a break on Escobar since he was likely ordered to release him and he tried to at least get rid of his contract. Why? Because of the homophobic slur.

The fact that the Marlins got rid of him almost immediately tells me they only took his salary off the Jays's hands instead of sending more cash over.

Gibbons has no choince but to play Reyes at shortstop (as was already clearly apparent.)

Tony LaCava told Jeff Blair that the front office will try to trade Reyes this offseason (obviously with the Jays having to eat some serious coin) and ... for that reason ... since Reyes' offensive numbers (tho down this year) look better at the shortstop position that's where they're keeping him.

heard Jeff Blair talk about it on Prime Time Sports (the Fan 590) this afternoon.

the only part I added myself was obviously the Jays will have to eat some serious coin.

Thank God. I rather cheer for an injured Tolu then a healthy Reyes. God I hate him and his smile. f***ing Throws the ball way, then gives a wide grin like he just cured cancer. Howarth was absoloutely right about him. Doesn't care, and just loses concentration.

Cancer in the clubhouse, openly fighting Donaldson in the field. Separating players by promoting racial differences. Im glad he is gone.

Today begins a new era for the Bluejays.
