ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Tolleson DL? Seems like it. Unless Travis is activated. Also, Travis not in lineup for Buffalo today and Navarro hit a 2-run HR in 1st AB after Burns singled.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Apparently, Travis suffered a setback and will now only return mid-to-late next week. So they'll have a 2B platoon with 2 lh hitters.
bill Verified Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 you can't blame carrera on that one. That was all on Loup the ball was absolutely scorched. If caught it would have been the catch of the year.

If caught it would have been the catch of the year. It's not on Loup at all either, he can't really control quality of contact. Blame it on the guy who actually hit the scorcher, Brian Dozier.

Anyway, this team had plenty of chances to score more than 2 runs, but no dingers today.

Just catch the ball , it hit the heel of his glove I agree, but for me the turning point was when martin was up with bases loaded and in a 1-2 count, then swings at a pitch out of the strike zone and then again on a pitch up high..he tried to be the hero instead of waiting for his pitch..guess walking in a run don't get you on the highlight reel.
bill Verified Member Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 good pitching should beat good hitting. Loup is not a good pitcher

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 good pitching should beat good hitting. Loup is not a good pitcher Delebar is starting to look pretty good. We could go get Soriano and use loup as a loogy and we wouldn't be in that bad a shape in the bullpen.
ScientificReason Verified Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 This team does not know how to pull out the close wins, if they did they would be over .500 right now. So many winnable games lost.

LOL yes he can, yes sometimes hitters will hit good pitches...but the better quality pitches the less good contact overall period.. You advanced stats freaks go way too far with your BABIP nonsense.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 You're actually right here, saying he can't control quality contact is pretty dumb. He can't. Only a few guys like Rivera and knuckleballers have consistently influenced their allowed contact. It isn't a skill that conventional pitchers like Loup can have.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 This is what happens when you rush players. all the blame rests on Travis. He played through the injury and didn't bother telling the brass until it was too late. And now he still insists that he can play through it.

The leader this year, Dallas Keuchel, has a career 18.8% Soft%; I don't know how you can say he has the soft contact skill.

Might be the dumbest thing I ever saw posted...Good pitches in good locations, setting up hitters, consistently gets weaker contact...You are saying basically it is all luck? Then what seperates the Halladays from the replacement players? According to you it is luck....total nonsense.
