Our pitchers are the worst in the AL. How does it get worse?

 

Todd Redmond is added to the roster again and is going to start today. That's how it gets worse.

I'm assuming Redmond is just making the one start and transitioning to the bullpen. This is a spot start give the young starters an extra. I suspect that when a permanent spot in the rotation opens up, it will be between Norris and Wolf as to who gets it.

 

I would argue there are three spots in the rotation that are currently "open".

Compared to how the rotation has performed thus far I don't think he could do any worse than what others have done. In fact I'd even go so far to say its completely plausible that a rotation of Norris, Wolf, Redmond, Estrada, Hendriks could show a better result to this point in the season than what the current staff has done. I'm not saying that's a better rotation, I'm saying Redmond amongst others couldn't possibly have done much worse than what we've seen to this point in the season.

Meanwhile Wolf has a 1.00 ERA in AAA and isn't starting. Anyone know why Redmond over Wolf?

 

Again, this is the sort of question I wouldn't even contemplate in my worst nightmare way back in March.
