Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I would like to re-float my idea that bunting should result in a dead ball and automatic out for the batter.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Its astounding to me that Pete Walker still has a job in Toronto. And BoSox fired their pitching coach already.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 At least Travis is getting out of the way now.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 $5M for a backup catcher instead? Come on, we all know they should trade Navarro.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Come on, we all know they should trade Navarro. Yep, trade Navarro, use that money to keep Lind, who would probably be the best hitter on this team right now (from the left side, which is the much weaker side for us.)
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 "You know the Orioles they are all about winning"...Buck Inane banter
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 $5M for a backup catcher instead? I am missing the connection here
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 And BoSox fired their pitching coach already. I understand that he cant control guys like Dickey, but the way the rest of the pitching staff has pitched has been deplorable. I remember three weeks ago, he went on the radio and announced that he had a plan for Sanchez and that Sanchez had figured it out. He actually said that. It was either on pregame or Baseball central. Not to mention what happened with Romero failure, Morrow Failure on and on and on.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 8 million for a platoon player? no thanks. He's already almost been worth that much.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I am missing the connection here Save money by ditching Navarro, keep Lind, instead of the other way around. I'm sure we could have gotten someone as good as Estrada for Navarro.
S33n Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Yep, trade Navarro, use that money to keep Lind, who would probably be the best hitter on this team right now (from the left side, which is the much weaker side for us.) Devils advocate here. Where would Lind fit on the current roster? I don't see Jose back in RF anytime soon, last I heard he said something like: "it's physically impossible for me to throw a baseball right now". Lind would be receiving the Justin Smoak treatment with about 40~ AB.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Happ/Saunders is a fair trade and I still think the Jays win it in the long run, But Lind/Estrada never made sense. Why would you bring the most homer prone pitcher in baseball to such a homer friendly ballpark, especially when his decline came with a drop in velocity. Maybe that's the best they were offered?
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Wtf is up with Travis Um, he's a rookie He will have ups and plenty of downs
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Devils advocate here. Where would Lind fit on the current roster? I don't see Jose back in RF anytime soon, last I heard he said something like: "it's physically impossible for me to throw a baseball right now". He'd have Smoak's position. So, not helping a tonne right now, but Bautista's stupid angerbear throw has really f***ed this team a lot.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 do you want to review the starting rotation again, might be the worst in the majors. Estrada is not helping.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Great play Travis. He has played some nice D for a guy who didn't have a glove.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 That was a hit three years ago.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 LMAO did buck just call Devon "travis Snider"??? Bwhahahha
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Maybe that's the best they were offered? Well they could have just kept him.
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 8 million for a platoon player? no thanks. With no defensive ability
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Save money by ditching Navarro, keep Lind, instead of the other way around. I'm sure we could have gotten someone as good as Estrada for Navarro. Yeah that basically is what I was saying at the beginning. I think Lind should have brought back a better return than Shitstrada. But I would still rather have Navarro than estrada lol
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 LMAO did buck just call Devon "travis Snider"??? Bwhahahha he does this kind of s*** literally every 2 mins. where u been bud
S33n Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Yep, trade Navarro, use that money to keep Lind, who would probably be the best hitter on this team right now (from the left side, which is the much weaker side for us.) Just to be clear, I'd still rather have Lind on the roster than Smoak/Navarro, just wanted to point out that he'd have nowhere near the AB's or value he's had in Milwaukee on this club.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Come on, we all know they should trade Navarro. AA definitely overplayed has cards when it came to Navarro, may not even be movable at the moment.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 With no defensive ability Lind > Encarnacion at 1st... Not a LOT better, but still better.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Yep, trade Navarro, use that money to keep Lind, who would probably be the best hitter on this team right now (from the left side, which is the much weaker side for us.) How about take the savings from trading Happ, Lind and Navarro and sign a good pitcher? On the other hand, I don't know that they didn't try to sign a good pitcher.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Lind would be playing LF right now. Seen that movie before. Scary thought.

I don't see Jose back in RF anytime soon, last I heard he said something like: "it's physically impossible for me to throw a baseball right now". Lind would be receiving the Justin Smoak treatment with about 40~ AB. Or Bautista would be on the DL like he probably should be.
