gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Whenever I see Gibbons during the game, he looks so relaxed and is sitting by himself on the bench. Other managers I see are standing and interact more with the team during the game. I can't see this helping the team in any way, as the leader. I'd prefer some better body language from Gibby.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Early contender for worst thread of the year! Attaboy, gbill2004!
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 Early contender for worst thread of the year! Attaboy, gbill2004! I'm thinking it'll be up there for best thread of the year when it's all said and done.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I'm thinking it'll be up there for best thread of the year when it's all said and done. See, this is the same level of thinking that caused you to make this thread in the first place.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 mods How is this not a valid observation? You guys not familiar with the impact of body language?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I don't know what the f*** this guy is talking about. This is the best body language I've ever seen of any manager. http://cdn.fangraphs.com/not/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Gibbonspants.jpg
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 How is this not a valid observation? What could the body language of the manager possibly have to do with anything in the known universe?
Gorlak Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Early contender for worst thread of the year! Attaboy, gbill2004! If only somebody started a fire Gibbons due to body language thread. If not I'll start Goins is a gamer thread, should be a strong contender.

gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 What could the body language of the manager possibly have to do with anything in the known universe? Like the impact it has on the people he's leading/managing.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Like the impact it has on the people he's leading/managing. Yeah... Don't think that's a thing that happens. Professional athletes tend not to care too much about how relaxed and isolated their manager happens to appear to you.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 Yeah... Don't think that's a thing that happens. Professional athletes tend not to care too much about how relaxed and isolated their manager happens to appear to you. I'd say your wrong, and subconsciously it does have an impact on players. Might be a minor impact, but his body language is terrible.

No, I'm not wrong. You are wrong. This is not really something you can debate... Well, it's not something I can debate, but that's because I'm a rational human being, I suppose you could find some weird "the moon landing was faked!" types who would give you a great debate or something... Hey, more power to you!

Hey, more power to you! Well actually you are wrong. You might want to look at expanding your horizons a bit. Any sports psychologist would agree with me. Clearly you're a stubborn guy so no point in debating with you.

Gorlak Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Closes at 9 here in NB. Also we have the worst beer sales in the country. Coincidence? Heard they have been messing around with microbrews also, why you so s*** NB.

Gorlak Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 It does matter. He helps set the tone. Not in a sport like baseball, It's the reason they always talk about players as leaders. All MLB managers in one way or another are just chill old men who don't do much.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Heard they have been messing around with microbrews also, why you so s*** NB. NBLC was taken over by a suit from Molson and shortly after they tried to screw the micros. Coincidence? They did back off though when there was a backlash.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 New avvy? Stop that, drunk Deadpool air guitar Ron MacLean is clearly the best possible avatar. ... Okay, now I might have to add the straw... Not tonight, however...
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Has anyone noticed how Gibby blinks as well? It's like he keeps his eyes open for a long time and then blinks slowly and his eyelids stay closed for a fraction of a second longer than other managers. Obviously this is affecting the players and the team is under-performing because of it. Bring in a manager who blinks at a normal speed and this team would be 19-11
