TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I just need to know how to ip ban people so the serious trolls cant just keep coming back. had a few today. they gave up after a few bans as they came back, but IP banning would help keep them out longer. we also need a 24 hour period before new accounts can post. click one of their posts and use "SpamOMatic" from the mod tools.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Guys, I was looking at the highlights of the Mets' game tonight, and Bartolo f***ing Colon had a sac fly RBI (With the bases loaded and one out) He did better than Navarro (i.e "the purest hitter") did today. And that one run wasted by fatty cost us the game. Jesus. How hard is it to hit a sac fly if Colon (who is fatter than Navarro btw) can do it??
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Shame it's so easy to get around. I guess if you do it enough times it might be a deterrant depending on the Vpn
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 After 21 years of disappointment I tempered my expectations this year. Works great
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 first inning control left him with 25 pitches after one. not completely horrible. wasn't getting the edge. Cecil came in and gave up a couple bombs. Loup got f***ed over too. both martin and Donaldson hit their first and second HRs welp I'm going to today's game (Saturday), guess I should mentally prepare myself for another 6 walk outing.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 welp I'm going to today's game (Saturday), guess I should mentally prepare myself for another 6 walk outing. dont expect anything, just hope for good baseball and maybe you can get surprised.

JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I was at the game tonight. Hated the end result but it was definitely a fun game to watch. The ball was just flying off the bat all night. Seemed like every fly ball had me holding my breath. Pillars catch was outstanding but catch of the night was from.a fan a few rows down from me who caught a foul boul in his bag of crackerjacks. Did that make it on the broadcast?
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Our pitching is garbage. If Cecil can't be trusted for a shut down inning anymore or in high leverage spots, Sanchez needs to be back in the pen asap. This team is in so much trouble if they can't find a way to win after hitting 5 flippin home runs. That's their only weapon.

They lost games this week when they pitched well, but the offense was in a funk. Tough one...keep calm.

We have scored 62 runs this season, 2nd in the majors. It could be argued that things just havent worked out for the Jays when it comes to winning games... or we could say our 51 runs against (9th worst) is the problem. 1/2 of our loses can be directly attributed to the bullpen, that is too many.

Remember though, they've been hot or cold at the plate; one day they score a bunch, the next they struggle. How many losses do you attribute to the offense?

How many losses do you attribute to the offense? Jimenez and Archer have been lights out so far this year. I dont think you can blame the offense in a game where you need the pitching to step up.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 any games where the pitching game up 3 runs or less and the offense scored less than 3 runs Exactly. With a couple of hits here adn there, they could've won a couple of games they lost. We'll see what happens.

People here were in support of not improving the bullpen with veteran relievers. Cecil can do it all, and Colt Hynes was going to be the acquisition blah blah. You need 3-4 experienced reliable middle relievers Jays are already 0-4 in 1 run games

I dont think you can blame the offense in a game where you need the pitching to step up. Or you could say you can't blame the pitching in a game the offense needed to "step up". The offense had chances yesterday to score more runs. See? It works both ways. We knew this team had an iffy pitching staff, but I think they'll do better than they have so far. The offense has been hot and cold, I'm sure they'll get more consistency going.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) They lost games this week when they pitched well, but the offense was in a funk. Tough one...keep calm. Calm. What I expected is happening. We didn't get the arms we knew we needed to start or for pen and losing Stro was potential death blow. We have 3 number 3 SPs and 2 rookies. We have a leaky pen with no real closer. This was a cognizant choice of ownership and mgm. We have a strong offense but it can be one dimensional - Travis and Pillar have exceeded expectations so far. Pompey struggling a bit. We haven't blown April as badly as 2013 and Reyes got 10 games in before he hit the DL. (every time he runs I hold my breath for the inevitable news) BOS retooled. The O's and them appear to be our competition although TB just kicked our asses at home. All in all we have em right where we want em. I'm good. Edited April 18, 2015 by BigCecil

North of 60 Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Pretty sad the Jays couldn't make the playoffs at least once with 2 of the best hitters in all of baseball. Both of which had below market value contracts.
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Underwhelming start to the season so far after a great first couple series...I'm really worried about the bullpen though, but it'll make for some exciting close games lol
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 8 homeruns yesterday, unusual for April

Team should stick to a rebuilding plan instead of changing course half way through it 'cause ratings might go down for a year or 2.
