How pissed will New Hampshire be if both Osuna and Castro skip AA this year?

It just seems like such a waste to me. There are plenty of good bullpen only candidates that could make this team. There's just no reason to burn option year on top starting prospects. It would be poor asset management and would kind of reek of desperation.

would it be bad asset management if the jays win 100 games and go on to win the world series?

Isn't this the logic Cards fans use to justify the Rasmus deal?

the OP's question is how will this end

Osuna joins the club mid August makes a few spot starts and BP relief stints

Castro starts in Dunedin, ends season in Buffalo

That's irrelevant. Wasting these guys in bullpen roles when the Matt Wests of the world can likely perform just as well is pointless.

it was a question and I think many here change their views depending on results. I dont think they should both or possibly either make the team in April.

I dont think it is wrong to use one or both at some point this year, but I'd go with other options to start the year. see what you have without them first.

I don't believe Osuna will see the pen, too valuable an asset to give up on as a starting pitcher. He's the right handed version of Urias

Why don't you just marry Matt West already

They seem to be in love with Castro as a reliever so i don't think he will get much chance to be a starter which i see as a waste.... If that is the case then i think he could make the team out of April...... No way Osuna makes the team out of April considering he only had 34 inning last season and still has things to work on and stretch out.... Soonest this season is september call ups.

I agree, barring injuries from the starting pitchers (Buehrle, Dickey, Hutch, Stro and Norris) I think we won't see him until sept

edit: If that

lol. I was just using him as an example. Matt West could suck for all I know. I'm just saying that there are a bunch of these kinds of guys who could potentially provide as much value in a bullpen role as the starter prospects. If not Matt West than Wilton Lopez or Greg Infante. The point is you can find effective relievers without burning your top starting prospects. If Castro and Osuna were in the high minors just knocking on the door and you didn't have anywhere else to play them, it would be a different story but that's hardly the case.

I think guys like West and Guilmet are good bets to be better than Castro and Osuna. I'd expect those kids to get destroyed in the majors this year.

I don't necessarily disagree but you don't know that

Ok, we don't KNOW that Pillar won't outperform Bautista. But we use the best information that we can to make decisions.

You could post this in response to anything posted on this forum. Thanks for not doing that though.

Dodgers or Nats don't win 100 games, never mind the Jays.
