By all reports he is a great receiver with a great arm.... Bat just never came around i would love to see him backup this season and learn from one of the best.

He seems to have no clue vs. righties, just flails away wildly.

 

That maybe true in the SSS you've seen of him in the majors, but he hit them well in the minors.

You are correct. Might get pitch velocities closer towards the season though.

Is there anyway to find out the pitchers velocity? It doesn't show up in Gameday. If they can track location why don't they track velocity??

 

Even on the TV broadcast game 1 there was no radar velocity info after pitches. They just don't bother I guess.

Thanks for doing the updates today in the GDT. It was so much better reading what was going on rather than "OMGZZOMGZZ DONALDSON SUCKZZZ" like in the first GDT.

Bibens-Dirkx (xFIP 2.15) and Liam Hendriks (xFIP 1.95 ) looked very good in the Dominican Winter League. Bibens-Dirkx is really good; at least what I saw of him here.

Korecky's a good player but I thought he was a write off at this point. Glad to know he's still in the picture because it just adds to an already pretty solid list of bullpen options.
