Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Greg Holland TJS "is likely" 4:08pm: Holland has a “significant” tear in his UCL, according to manager Ned Yost (via McCullough). Tommy John surgery is the likely course of action. Yost now believes Holland tore the ligament last August, meaning he pitched last September and the postseason as well as all of 2015 with a tear in the ligament. 3:55pm: Holland tells reporters, including McCullough (Twitter links) that an MRI taken earlier this month revealed ligament damage. He has, in fact, been battling discomfort since last August but did not want to undergo an MRI previously, as his desire was instead to pitch through the pain Well thats selfish as f*** because you don't want to stop pitching even though your performance may be suffering because of it
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Royals being royals. No let's not figure you're hurt, pitch through it
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Is Greg Bird for Real? http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-top-five-yankees-prospects-by-projected-war/ "Bird is a 22-year-old hitter with fewer than 30 games’ worth of experience above High-A who’s also projected to produce something slightly better than a league-average batting line. There are few other prospects about which it’s possible to make such a comment. Steamer tends to produce very conservative BABIP forecasts for players with little experience in the high minors. Indeed, even Bird’s .286 BABIP projection is a about a standard deviation below major-league average. Bird still appears to offer enough in the way of discipline and power, however, to compensate for the penalties inherent within projections for players of his limited experience."
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Looking at Chris sale, God love him to pitch excellent tonight but he seems like a really good value in terms of salary. Looks like he's making around $10-12 million in the next 2-3 yrs Good deal! You think, lol.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Chances of Stroman winning comeback player of the year? I mean, I know he doesn't have the stats to back it up, but just the presence and everything Prince Fielder... a distant second A-Rod.

A good reminder that bullpen pitchers are volatile.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Good pitching? The Yankees lefty-heavy lineup will have to face to extremely nasty lefties in Sale and Rodon. The Yankees are a patient bunch of hitters so they will probably draw their share of BBs from Rodon, but he has been filthy for a couple months now and has ace-level stuff. Also, if Shark pitches like his last outing, gravy.

venema20 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Well at least the AL Cy Young is down to two pitchers. Chris Sale has completely taken himself out of the race with his last 5 starts. Who broke Chris Sale?
awsomest Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Game over. 3-0. 3 GB back now. Blowing the Boston game hurt. ur such a pos, If the jays didnt lose any games they would have 152 wins right now hurrr durr
Vancouverite Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I don't understand how any Jays fan could root for Sale to win Cy. .. we needed him to beat the Yanks and what? f***ing off Sale!
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I smell a sweep. Better take it to Tampa and hope the Red Sox can help us out. White Sox offence is among worst in the league.
Billy Bats Verified Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 tried listening to the yanks sox game on the fan, can't take that broads voice for the life of me. just awful. good luck to anybody brave enough to endure that noise. yanks already won anyway. anybody complaining about ANY jays losses needs to put a f***in muzzle on it! we're taking the division and the AL!!!
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Well this is a rather disappointing turn of events.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Why do you people keep responding to Trouba? First, I don't want to see his posts. Having him on ignore is nice...please don't ruin that for me. Second, no one is that much of a clown. His 'sky is falling' routine is just part of his schtick to troll everyone and get a rise out of people. Ignore the idiocity. Third, go White Sox!!!
