Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 I'd rather have J.P. Crawford... ...or Trout instead Jenkins.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Latest reports on Bickford really aren't that great. Can't keep his velocity up as a starter. Probably destined for relief. Was hitting 99 as a reliever. Sitting 91 and hitting 94 this weekend. Even though he dropped to to 89 in the 6th inning, there is still going to be teams saying "99 is there, he just needs conditioning". So much will change with the spring season anyway. I'd still avoid Bickford (just like I said in 2013, I'd rather get a guy that shows more consistency, he had some outings where scouts asked if this was legitimately the guy they were sent to scout).
ace3113 Verified Member Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 What about Dansby Swanson? I thought he was one of the best bats I saw in college last year, and without Conde there he gets to show what he can do at SS (unless they have some Freshman SS coming in), there is no doubt he can hit, so if he can show some flashes of his 2B D at SS...he should be a top 5 pick (probably should be anyway). He's pretty good. I really liked him coming out of high school. I wrote about him at BBB in his draft year. I don't think he's a top 5 pick though, even in this weaker draft. He's similar to Trea Turner last year with potentially better defense, and hitting mechanics.
Josh Kasevich Buffalo Bisons - AAA SS Kasevich tallied 3 hits on Thursday including his 17th double. He's now hitting .303 on the season. Explore Josh Kasevich News >
