L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 not a great average but still good production overall he doesn't need to be exclusive to rhp as his numbers vs lhp aren't outstanding either, but valencias bat needs to be in vs lhp maybe smoak vs rhp exclusively will bring up his average but the power is there for sure could knock in a lot of runs with all the high OBP guys in front of him It will be interesting to watch Smoak this year. I assume he'll have a little bit of rope with this lineup, as AA seems to like the glove @ 1B, with some offensive upside. Getting out of Safeco, lots of opportunities to drive in runs, the Rogers Center. Lots of positives for his skill set. I think Valencia should get the the bulk of AB's at 1B vs LHP
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 He's (AA) f***ing back holy s***. This is some vintage AA penny pinching moves. Remember when we claimed Miguel Olivo just so we could get a supplemental draft pick a few years ago? Or when we traded less than a million $ for Carlos Villanueva?

King Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Olivo -> Comer -plus-other-s***-> Happ -> Saunders. It was the plan all along. Or not.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 DSJ was Gregg. Comer was Olivo. I miss free agent compensation (without the qualifying offer...)

King Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 DSJ was Gregg. Comer was Olivo. Wikipedia (lol) has it the other way around, that's why I said DSJ. Baseball ref is more than likely right though.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I miss free agent compensation (without the qualifying offer...) The qualifying offer stuff made s*** so much harder for teams wanting to rebuild fast.
